Dear mature cricketing personage Yet again another season looms and enclosed is the fixture list – many games to fulfil and enjoy. It is essential that you return a completed form by email or snail mail to Geoff as soon as possible with your anticipated availability for the season and please, please, your name, address, phone number and email address so that Wendy can maintain our records. A number of people have changed their mobile number and I’d hate you to miss out on a game because we have the wrong details for you. It would also be good to have your DOB please so that when we have age related matches we know who to call. As you know we have to pay all our own costs; we try to keep these to a minimum but, for guidance purposes, an afternoon fixture will be £10 per head while an all-day game will be £13 - £15. Last season went very well and our thanks are due to Over 50’s skipper Pat Patel, Over 60’s skipper Graham Penny and Over 70’s skipper Richard Kemp who, as ever, did their utmost to keep everyone happy. Graham is now retiring from skippering the Over 60s and we thank him for his 10 years of service. Reg Podd is also retiring, but from scoring rather than skippering, after 20 years of service. Both Graham and Reg have really made a difference to our senior community and we will continue to see Graham playing for a good while yet we hope. Edgar Dunkley takes over the reins as Over 60s skipper for 2016. As you can see from the attached list, we have a very full fixture list with quite a few back-to-back fixtures and it would be much appreciated by yours truly if you could ensure that you are available for at least one of these games, preferably both, or on an either/or basis; also, we field 2 teams for the fixtures at Halstead, Ipswich and Mistley.
