1. Apply online to Folsom Lake College at: www.flc.losrios.edu and get your FLC student ID # (you need your social security number for your app). The app is FREE. Application workshops will be: 2/2 or 2/22 (4th block) and 2/8 or 3/1 (dback)

2. Orientation - Attend an “in-person” orientation or complete the online

orientation quiz. Access both by selecting ‘orientation’ from the Quick Links menu at the top of the FLC home page. Attend the fieldtrip and get credit for orientation! 3. Assessment at the El Dorado Center (English and Math, for

placement only, not acceptance). FLC has reserved a special assessment time for UM students: Tuesday, March 7, 14, or 21 at 3:30. If at all possible, try to test on these dates. If you cannot, check for

other dates on the FLC website, or come to the Career Center for a calendar.   

You must bring: ►FLC Student ID # ►Photo ID ►$2for parking Test length: English=1½ hours Math= 1 hour (pre‐calc test = 2 hours) Study! Study guides are in the Career Center, or online at www.flc.losrios.edu

4. Academic Planning – once you have completed both orientation and assessments you must see a FLC counselor before April 1, in order get Priority 2 registration. Sign up for planning sessions at www.flc.losrios.edu/student-services/counseling/new-students

Steps #1-4 above MUST be completed by April 1st in order to receive an earlier priority registration date.

5. Registration – Course schedules will be available on-line in early April. Registration begins in May.  Registration Workshops will take place on April 24th and on May 3rd during Dback. Registering as soon as possible gives you more scheduling opportunities!

February 1 (Dback) – an opportunity to

talk to reps from various community colleges and get pertinent information. Tickets are in the Career Center!

Fieldtrip: February 28 – FREE fieldtrip to Folsom Lake College and the El Dorado Center – we will leave around 8:00 and be back by the end of lunch. Pick up permission slips in the Career Center in February. Includes orientation for those who have applied and have a Los Rios ID #.

dback - - sign up to come in the library computer lab and learn how to transfer your Los Rios email, select, and sign up for classes.

FLC resources: (check them out under ‘quick links’ on the FLC webpage: www.flc.losrios.edu ) EOP&S Provides support services to students meeting specific educational and economic criteria, as well as students from underrepresented groups. Services include counseling and advising, early registration, book vouchers, workshops, and transfer assistance. Print out forms from the website and turn them in ASAP.

Board of Governors (BOG) Fee Waiver Application The Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOG) is funded by the State of California to waive in full the amount of enrollment fees to eligible students who are California residents. The form’s available, online, in April.

DSPS – for those students who have had an IEP while in High School. Call 642-5630 for an appointment. DSPS office can provide ‘Priority 0’ registration dates!

FYE and Summer Bridge – programs to help you get started successfully – including priority registration, guaranteed courses, and academic support. Come to the Career Center for information.
