It‟s my pleasure to spread some word about FOCUS, since last four years I am working with students for FOCUS its really wonderful experience for me. Apart from academic curricular activities, students can focus them in college or department through technical and non technical activities of FOCUS. FOCUS aims at recognizing the true Engineers and tapping their intellect to the maximum. Also FOCUS providing means to the students, to aspire and achieve, more than what their curriculum requires. Students learn how to make team and work in team along with art of leading their teams and working for the team. It aims at teaching students, the art of leading their teams and working for the team. FOCUS provide platform for students to rise above their limits and explore the hidden talents. Albert Einstein says, "The value of a college education is not the learning of many facts but the training of the mind to think". This perfectly fit in with objectives of FOCUS. Student‟s undergraduate years are the one where they get opportunities which improve them at every aspect At Focus we understand that Education is more than a collection of courses. Its full value lies not just in what students learn in the classroom but also what students choose to do in the time they are on campus. FOCUS has provided students a platform to develop their intra-personal skills, like self-confidence, communication skills as well as organization skills. Students plan and organize the activities which provide them with the experience which groom them for the challenges they have to face throughout life. Being part of FOCUS was really a great experience and I am thankful to Prof. Uma Nagaraj, HOD & Chairman FOCUS and Prof S. A. Jain, Vice Chairman FOCUS for giving me this opportunity. Education is unending life long process. It begins when one enters the stage of life until he / she has his exit. Formal education is given by educational institutions. The aims and objective of any educational institution must be to instill in the students genuine human and spiritual values, a genuine concern for the welfare of others and commitment to truth and justice and last but not least academic excellence and all round a\development of one‟s personality to meet situation in life. Best of Luck for your future !

Studying .NET in details with extra preparation was a really refreshing experience for someone like me who is enthusiastic about the newer technology and very curious too. Though the technology was novel for me, the trainers and professors were very helping and instrumental when we talk about practicality. They made it easy to understand and it helped a lot. Our Head of Department too played a major role, bringing this course to reality. I pay my special thanks to Mr. SA Jain Sir without whom all this was impossible. All in all, this course added some serious weight to my skill set. Now I feel confident to be able to handle all the newer technologies with same efficiency after this course. It is a privilege to have III cell in our college that initiates and manages various Add-on courses and hands on workshops which benefits the students with additional knowledge. I have attended Microsoft .NET course and workshop based on Ethical hacking which were organized by III cell. Microsoft .NET is a technology which is currently very popular with a high demand in the market. The Microsoft certification is one of the few ways to grab attention onto your resume. Please accept my deepest thanks for providing such a knowledge and exposure of different subjects. Thank you III cell of our college. I am very much satisfied and thankful to the III cell of our college for conducting such sessions which gives us exposure to more technical things. By attending the Microsoft .Net course & workshops based on ethical hacking we got the chance to present ourselves at technical level. Being the winners of project competition conducted by III cell, me and my team members got golden opportunity to do internship. Total 12 students from our batch got this opportunity. I personally feel that such workshops should be conducted in future also because this has increased my confidence a lot, as I got chance to do real life project in 5th semester only.

Lots of load was taken off my shoulders by various workshops that were conducted over the three years in Computer Engineering. The workshop for „Basic Programming Concepts of OOPS and Data Structure‟ helped me to have a basic understanding and a clear view about programming, which later on proved to be very helpful for my practical as well as theory subjects. We were introduced to a Linux Operating System Platform by a workshop on „Operating System & Administration using Linux Programming ‟.Another four days SDT gave us an introduction about java programming as well as android. Because of the workshop on „Ethical Hacking‟, we are now able to take a more proactive approach A workshop on „LaTeX‟ was very helpful while preparing reports for our seminars and projects. Due the add-on course on „Mircosoft .NET‟,we are now able to create dynamic web applications, designand develop user interfaces (UIs), create ASP .NET Pages, create and test prototypes, and so on. Aswe had Microsoft certification for „Microsoft.Net‟, we had an advantage over other candidates on the placement drives that were conducted. The key to all this, of course, is our HOD ma‟am, Mrs. Uma Nagraj and all the faculty members of Computer Department. We were able to make the most out of these workshop and events, because of all the efforts made by the faculty members who provided direction to our knowledge and shape to our future. The past 3 years at MIT AOE Computer Department have been full of learning and self-improvement for me. As a student with very less prior knowledge about this field, the various workshops and guest lecturers organized by the department in each semester proved to be very helpful to learn the subjects and understand the different concepts. During semester 3 & 4workshops such as OOPS Programming & Advanced Data Structure Concepts organized for 5 days, Student development program on LaTeX and Operating System & Administration using Linux Programming for 2 days, Core Java workshop held for 6 days helped the me to understand these concepts and clear all my doubts and perform well in the lab sessions. The Ethical Hacking and Computer Forensics workshop organized by Kaitec Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was useful for me to understand the different networking, data communication domain and cyber forensics concepts in detail during Semester 5 & 6. All these interesting sessions and the classroom teachings were conducted with the contribution of the faculty and our HOD Mrs. Uma Nagraj. Today when I‟m in the final semester of my academics I‟m grateful to my professors and HOD for their immense support and encouragement which has made me achieve laurels throughout my academics and which would always help me achieve furthermore in my future endeavors. I would always look up to them for their precious advice and would always be indebted to their teachings that has made me a better student ,more confident and successful in my engineering life.

I was selected as President of Focus through subsequent elections, being a part of Focus has helped me a lot in grooming my technical as well as management skills, this year our team was able to organize many successful events. We received a huge response for the mega event "Technodium" of Computer Department. The Success of every successful event goes to team work and synchronization between everyone in Department. I want to thank our respected HOD Prof.Uma Nagaraj and respected Prof. Jain for giving me a chance to be President of Focus in Computer Department, I also want to thank all respected supporting teachers and other staff members who have a great contribution towards Focus, and last but not the least I want to thank all my Core Committee Team members of Focus who had worked hard and contributed towards each event. It was great and proud being a part of Focus. Lastly, a message for my juniors, Difficulties in our life don't come to destroy us but, they come to show us the hidden potential within u.

“FOCUS” provides a great platform for students to showcase their Technical & Non-technical skills on a large scale. I‟m really fortunate that i got a chance to lead my team as a VP, while working as a team whenever we faced problems there were n number of ideas i.e. solutions from every single member which led us to a perfect solution. Working in FOCUS also taught me that at 11th hour how to use whatever we have and get the job done. Few of the activities conducted under FOCUS such as Fresher‟s, Farwell party, TECHNODIUM,CAP etc. gave me a chance to interact with my seniors as well as juniors which indeed was a joyful experience. Visiting an old-age home on the eve of "New Year" was the best experience so far, in which we tried to enlighten there life with love ,care & joy. After the end of every event those captions (photos) with my team were awesome. No matter what problems we faced, but after the conclusion of every event those praising words/smiling faces from teachers gave me a lot of satisfaction .It was really amazing working with such an enthusiastic team, after all FOCUS is all about "TEAMWORK"!!!

We all need various opportunities in our life to grow and understand our potential and FOCUS provided me with many such opportunities. By participating in the various activities that are organized by FOCUS I was able to realize my potential and showcase my talent. The various competitions and workshops demanded us to push our boundaries and think out of the box. I was always a part of all the activities organized by the FOCUS either as a team member in the organizing committee or as a participant and during this process I learned many things. I learned to value teamwork and team spirit and also the importance of each individual in the team. I learned the value of hard work and persistence. FOCUS has been like a family to me and it has nurtured me and always cared for me. The best part of helping organize the activities at FOCUS was the after parties which involved one glass of cold drink and a plate of samosa, nothing lavish i know but after a full day of work this seemed like heaven to me and without the photo shoots no event was successfully concluded. It feels been amazing to be a part of something, to be a part of FOCUS.

How would one feel if there are only studies and no fun work around? Dull, obviously. But things are different if you are a part of the FOCUS Committee. This year, FOCUS organized a lot of events, some small and some big ones, and I was luckily part of all of them, either as a volunteer, co-ordinator or as a participant. The work I did as a part of the FOCUS Committee, taught me a lot of things, like team work, working under pressure, meeting deadlines, to name a few. There was always tension in the air, while we prepared for the events, but we had each other. Yes, the members of the FOCUS committee are like a family, helping each other at every point, and with the guiding faculty so much supportive and encouraging by our sides, we never had to fear about failures, and there was always success at the end! The events helped me to improve a lot on individual level, and I overcame a lot of barriers, that I had in mind earlier. It helped me develop a lot as a working individual and as a student. Also, the little food parties and clicking pictures at the end of events was always amazing, and we will always carry these jolly times as good memories. Its work combined with fun in FOCUS, and I am happy to have served as a part of this family!

Being in FOCUS was the best part of this academic year for me. Working in groups is what i am fond of and here i got this opportunity to work with such a wonderful team. Let it be any event by FOCUS my work here was coordinating the decoration team and yes we did our best in decorating the Fresher‟s party hall , the teachers day celebration and during Technodium'16.Planning for the events , those frequent meetings and discussions regarding events were best part of everything .The social outlook of FOCUS makes me feel proud that I am a part of it .Along with all these events the Computer Awareness Program in Government School was best experience for me and the visit to the Leprosy Rehabilitation Center was the turning point of my life .It‟s a place where you can groom yourselves , have wonderful experiences and life changing lessons and if nothing at least meet extraordinary people .

Organizing events, team work, leadership qualities and discipline are some of the things out of the engineering textbooks but focus makes sure we excel in these strata as well. Organizing events is not as easy as it sounds; organizing requires proper coordination among the members, synchronization among the activities and so on. At focus it is made sure that everything works in the smoothest possible manner. This smooth working is because of the great efforts and dedication the members put in, the right distribution of responsibility and a good leadership. Right from the registrations to the prize distribution, everything is conducted in a proper and efficient manner. Moreover, being a part of focus always gives in a sense of satisfaction and teaches a lot of things with every passing day.
