Hearing Voices: the reality of a person’s experience Matt Ball - Presenter The conversation will introduce ideas of understanding and working with people that have voice hearing experiences. Matt will discuss how the international hearing voices movement has developed to support voice hearers, family members and individuals wanting to work along side voices hearers. He will also explore examples from work locally, including the value of the hearing voice groups hosted by MIFSA in SA. Matt Ball is a Nurse Practitioner candidate working in the outer south mental health services, Southern Adelaide Local Health Network. He has a background in nursing and counselling / psychotherapy. Having worked in the UK and Australia across mental health substance misuse and domestic violence services and in Public, NGO and private practice. Alongside his professional experience Matt also incorporates a lived experience in his learning journey. Matt’s current role encompasses working with individuals with physical comorbidities and other complex needs.
