A screw conveyor conveys about 500 kg of paddy with bulk density of 550 kg/m3 in 5 minutes. The pitch and the diameter of the screw remains the same of 25 cm and the diameter of the shaft is 5 cm. The screw rotates at a speed of 120 rpm. Compute actual capacity, theoretical capacity and conveyance efficiency. During the evaluation of specific gravity separator, 250 g of sample was collected for analysis of clean grain fraction from different outlets. The data is given as follows. The impurities /stone present in feed : 20.0 g The impurities /stone present in clean grain outlet : 5.0g The impurities present in stone outlet : 245.0g Calculate the cleaning efficiency of specific gravity separator. **************
