Dawn for the Poor Foundation “Bukang Liwayway”

April 2015 Director’s Report

“"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him.” Matt 4:19-20 NIV Blessed to be a Blessing, is this year’s Theme of Dawn for the Poor Foundation. This is in a good light to harmonize in the Roman Catholic’s proclamation of 2015 as the Year of the Poor. What does it mean to the rest of the Catholic Faith? Would this be a call to once again remember the poor in all our services and worship? The poor in BL Communities were blessed by God with passion and availability to evangelize their families and communities and let us all continue to pray that this movement will continue so that they can bless more. As the disciples draw near and follow Jesus, May our BL Leaders draw closer to Jesus and continue to follow Him, the one who called and promised blessing and commanded that all believers should be a blessing to others. Personal prayers: After 8 long years (included 2 years of leave of absence in school) of 6 years of studying, by the help of God and the support of my family, friends and the foundation, I finished my Master of Divinity in Biblical studies this April. This marked an 8 years of Leading the Foundation too, from being the Liaison Officer, a member of executive council and at the same time the Chairman of the Board of the Foundation, into a Strategy Facilitator of Ministry overseers and now as the Executive Director. Can’t believe that almost a decade had gone too fast. I am amazed how God carried me through by His grace and mercy as I juggle responsibilities, and another every year – Planting churches, training leaders, Marriage, Mimi’s pregnancy, having a child, brother’s death, mother’s sickness and hospitalization, and with a special brother. As I savor on my finished degree, I can’t help myself but to thank God and gave Him all the glory. From being a child in the dumpsite and poverty never in mind that this day may come that I will lead a ministry that cared and empower the children of the dumpsite of poverty. I quote Manny Pacquiao, “The Lord raised me from Nothing to Something for a purpose and that purpose is to bring glory to His name.” All glory belongs to God who makes from Nothing into Something beautiful and wonderful for His glory. We arrived last week from a 14 day trip to Singapore and Malaysia, with primary purpose of attending friends’ wedding and visiting friends in those countries. God has blessed us with generous friends and hosts – it feels like home. Singapore has been a second home for us, ever since our first trip there for a honeymoon the next day after we got married. Praise God for the safe travel, opportunities to share the ministry, meet people who have been supporters and prayer partners of the Ministry for almost a decade too, then meeting friends and new friends and interested people in helping the ministry. Carrying with us Alab during this trip is quite a challenge, his loud and sometimes annoying shouting and crying make us sometimes shy, but thanks to the people who understands, Alab is a normal audience’s getter. Praise God that our young missionary is healthy and able to adjust in all our many traveling. Praise God for all His provisions while there. My Mother is in the hospital again, and please continue to pray for her quick recovery. Yesterday she had her second bag of blood transfusion, and we will be needing 3 to 5 more bags probably before she will be discharge from the hospital - if no more other sicknesses she have due to her low immune system caused by her medication from Aplastic Anemia. Please pray for the Lord provision for the family, and that this time may open my mom’s heart fully to the Lord. Pray that my Sister Carmen grow in her faith and will able to share it to our mom while we are away for a retreat for 5 days. Let her will be done. Pray for God’s leading and fruitful ministry for Fred and Mimi as they prepare and speak during the Youth Camp and Leadership Camp this coming week, April 20-23. For Mimi as she deliver a message in a city wide Convergence in Mandaluyong about Love in Community this coming April 25, 2015. For Fred as he will be busy preaching and teaching in all the communities of BL this summer, also as he bring and lead all the BL workers in Ilocos Norte (up north of the country) for a retreat and recreation. Pray for God’s protection as he experience a lot of attack from the enemies since we arrived from Singapore. Pray for Alab as he will experience a 10-11 hours of travel in a bus in this retreat, pray for protection and guidance to him and all workers and the Lord’s ever recharging power and passion during the retreat. Thank you very much for all your love and prayers for us and for the Filipino poor. Only Because of Jesus, Frederick Dungganon
