Voucher Overview Q1. What are exam discounts? A. Exam discounts allow qualified Cisco Networking Academy students to take these Cisco certification exams at a reduced cost: ●

ICND1 (640-822)

ICND2 (640-816)

CCNA Composite (640-802) These guidelines apply to exam discounts:

Your discount must be used in the same region where you completed your Networking Academy training.

Absolutely no exchanges, refunds, or extensions will be granted if the incorrect exam discount type is selected.

A discount must be used by its expiration date. No extensions will be given.

Cisco cannot make changes to discount requests after they have been submitted.

Q2. What is the difference between a discount and a voucher? A. Ultimately, both a discount and a voucher result in the same reduced certification exam price for eligible students. The difference in terminology reflects how the reduced price is processed in the Cisco and Pearson VUE systems. Networking Academy is transforming the way that it delivers certification price reductions to students. During this transition, you may notice the term discount being used more frequently in place of the term voucher. Q3. What is the value of the exam discount? A. Learning@Cisco has made exam discounts available to eligible Networking Academy students for 58 percent off the full price of the ICND1 (640-822), ICND2 (640-816) and the CCNA Composite (640-802) exams. Note that exam discount promotions are subject to change and that, from time to time, exam prices also change without notice. Students are encouraged to double-check the value of the discount and the price of the exam at the time that they wish to request a discount. Plan to request your discount and take your exam in a timely manner to minimize your chances of being negatively affected by a change. Q4. How do I qualify for an exam discount? ®

A. To receive a Cisco CCENT™ exam discount, students must pass the first two Cisco CCNA Discovery courses, Networking for Home and Small Businesses and Working at a Small-to-Medium Business or ISP, receive a passing mark from their instructor in their online grade book, and receive a logged score of 75 percent or higher on their first attempt to pass the final exam for Working at a Small-to-Medium Business or ISP. For a Cisco CCNA exam discount, students must pass all four courses of either the CCNA Discovery or CCNA Exploration curriculum, receive a passing mark from their instructor in their online grade book, and receive a logged score of 75 percent or higher on their first attempt to pass the final exam for the final CCNA Discovery course, Designing and Supporting Computer Networks, or for the final CCNA Exploration course, Accessing the WAN.

Additionally, a top cohort of global Cisco NetRiders Competition winners may be eligible for either a CCENT or CCNA Composite exam discount. Details are available upon competition registration. Q5. How do I know that I have qualified for an exam discount? A. Qualifying students automatically receive a Discount Voucher Request link in the Career Development section of their Academy Connection Home Page after their Instructor enters a Pass in the grade book. These are the links that may appear on the student home page: Note: If you do not see a link, it means you have yet to qualify.

Q6. How many exam discounts can a Networking Academy student receive? A. When qualifications are met, a maximum of two exam discounts are provided. ●

For Cisco CCENT certifications, one exam discount is provided for ICND1 (640-822).

For Cisco CCNA certifications, the student can choose to take the exam in two parts and therefore can get two discounts: one exam discount for ICND1 (640-822) and one discount for ICND2 (640-816). Alternatively, a student can choose to take the exam in one sitting and choose one discount for the CCNA Composite exam (640-802).

The notifications shown below appear when a student begins the process to request an exam discount. Read all notifications very carefully before you make your exam discount requests. ●

Exam discounts must be used in the same region where you completed your Networking Academy training.

Absolutely no exchanges, refunds, or extensions will be granted.

Exam discounts must be used by the expiration date. No extensions will be given.

Cisco will not reimburse students or instructors for the discount.

Cisco cannot make changes to discount requests after they have been submitted.

Q7. How can students receive additional exam discounts? A. As Cisco Networking Academy will issue only one exam discount per eligible candidate per exam, students are encouraged to study before the certification exams. Exam discounts cannot be reissued. Q8. Can students who fail the certification exam use the exam discount a second time? A. The exam discount is valid for one use only. Students who fail the certification exam will not be issued a second exam discount.

Q9. How long are exam discounts valid? A. When the discount is issued, the expiration date will be displayed on your Networking Academy profile page by clicking the link View Certification Exam Discounts and Voucher Information. It is also in the Cisco exam discount information email from Cisco exam promotions. A discount is valid for 12 months from the day you become eligible. You must request your exam discount voucher and take your certification exam within this time. No extensions will be made to the discount expiration date. For example, if you became eligible and received the request link on your homepage on Aug. 12. 2012, your discount voucher would expire on August 11, 2013. Note that exam discount promotions are subject to change from time to time. Exam prices also change without notice. Students are encouraged to double-check the value of the discount and the price of the exam at the time that they wish to request a discount. Plan to request your discount and take your exam in a timely manner to minimize your chances of being negatively affected by any change. Q10. Why is the expiration date on my exam discount different from the dates of those of my classmates? A. The date of discount expiration is determined by the date you take your course final exam. Expiration dates of discounts vary accordingly depending on when a student took his/her course final exam.

Accessing and Redeeming a Discount Voucher Q11. What is the process for accessing and redeeming a Cisco certification exam discount voucher? A. Once you submit your request, you will receive an email verification sent to the email address that you provided. You must have access to this email address following your certification exam date. Do not verify that email address if you know that you will lose access to it or if any of your information has changed or is incorrect (name, email address, or mailing address). For incorrect name or mailing address, please contact Cisco Certifications and Communities Online Support. After you verify your email address, you can register for the exam as soon as you receive your Cisco exam discount information email, which includes the details of your promotion code. The request process takes approximately five to seven business days. Q19. I am having trouble validating my email address in the verification email in the verificaiton email sent by Cisco. A. I have submitted my discount request, but I now need to change the name under which I requested the discount. A. This change can be made, but it will delay your discount. Contact Cisco Certification and Communities Online Support to make the change. To ensure that the name is correct when you register for the exam with Pearson VUE, your name must be updated in the VUE system and you must have legal verification of your name when you take the test. Admission Policy: For Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks: We ask that you arrive at the testing center 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time so that you have time to complete the necessary sign-in procedures. At many testing centers, Cisco requires the capture of your photograph and digital signature. Please be prepared to show two forms of personal identification. Both must have your signature, and one must be a governmentissued picture ID. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for an exam and are refused admission, payments are due for the exam and delivery fees. All Cisco exams are “closed book.” You are not allowed to take books, calculators, or backpacks into the testing center area. All cell phones and pagers must be turned off before storing outside the testing room. The testing center will provide you with a laminated marker board for your use during testing. Upon exam completion, the proctor will escort you out of the testing room. You need to surrender your laminated marker board at this point. All candidates will be given a score report or a beta exam confirmation at the end of the exam. This document includes important material; please keep it for future reference. Note: Before receiving certification, you must sign the Cisco Certifications Agreement. This can be done electronically at the end of any Cisco exam. To review the Cisco Certifications Agreement before your exam appointment, visit: www.cisco.com/go/exampolicy.

Reschedule Policy: For Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks: If you wish to reschedule your exam, you must contact Pearson VUE one business day prior to your exam appointment. If you reschedule an exam less than 24 hours in advance, you will incur the forfeit-exam fee. Exam fees are also due for no-shows.

Cancel Policy: For Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks: If you wish to cancel your exam, you must contact Pearson VUE one business day prior to your exam appointment. If you cancel an exam less than 24 hours in advance, you will incur the forfeit-exam fee. Exam fees are also due for no-shows.

Additional Information: For Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks: Please note that your “appointment length” may include time for nonscored sections such as surveys or tutorials. The appointment length does not necessarily reflect the total amount of time allotted for the actual exam. The majority of Cisco exam appointments include 15 to 20 minutes for surveys and tutorials. Once passed, a candidate must wait a minimum of 180 days before taking the same exam with an identical exam number. Candidates may only take a beta exam once. Candidates who fail an exam must wait a period of five (5) calendar days, beginning the day after the failed attempt, before rescheduling the exam. For example, if a candidate tests on Tuesday, he or she may test again no sooner than the following Monday. For more information on Cisco's exam policies, visit: www.cisco.com/go/exampolicy. Pearson VUE will not be held responsible for expenses incurred beyond the cost of the exam, including but not limited to travel expenses and lost wages on the day of the exam. Pearson VUE's goal is to make your testing experience a pleasant one. We thank you for selecting Pearson VUE as your testing service provider and look forward to serving you again. Please feel free to contact us with your comments or questions.

As a Cisco test taker, you deserve a fair and secure testing experience. Please report any suspicious behavior you observe to [email protected]. Examples of such behavior include receiving help or copying from another test taker, taking a test for someone else, copying or disclosing exam content, or using notes or unauthorized aids.
