Refuel We started out this year with a full schedule taking us right up to today as I write this update! One item in the works for the last few months was having a young couple from Moody Aviation College come to Kinshasa for a 6-week internship.
of aviation gasoline (avgas). A couple of years ago, we were paying over $5 per litre for avgas required for our piston engine aircraft. Due to this extremely high price, amongst the highest paid by MAF worldwide, we decided to relocate the piston aircraft, a 5 passenger Cessna 206, to another location where the fuel was less expensive.

Refine We want to thank you again, and again, for supporting our ministry with MAF in Congo! It never ceases to amaze us, that by God’s provision and presence, and your generosity, we have remained 100% financially supported during our 4.5 years in Congo! Thank you! As we reflect on the past and look to the future we want to share some important information with you, because you are part of this ministry team. During the last six months a number of our supporters have been unable to continue with their monthly support leaving us down about $1000/ month. With that in mind would you please join us in prayer as we seek new supporters to come alongside of us in helping to make up for this lost support? We appreciate your partnership in this ministry! More information we want to share with you is that we are planning a home assignment this year! It has been hard to carve out time away from program responsibilities with so much great work going on, but we know it’s equally important to keep you aware of the ministry impact in Congo. So, most of this 3-month home assignment will be focused on seeing you! We are still finalizing dates and travel itinerary, but we are planning to be in Canada from the end of April until the end of July. This is coming up fast and we will keep you informed as we decide on specific dates. In the meantime please let us know if you are interested in us coming to share with your church, small group or even if you just want to visit! We want to see as many people as possible. Again, thank you for following along with us as we follow the way here in Congo to see lives eternally transformed! “May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.” - Ruth 2:12
Refocus Another major event was our recent week of meetings in Lubumbashi. This included almost all pilots and mechanics with MAF in Congo from all 3 bases; as well as representative from MAF USA headquarters. It was a great time of fellowship and a productive time of discussion as we sifted through details of our current context, aviation regulations, organizational structure and much more. One highlight during the intense meetings was our collective realization that each of us felt a rekindled desire to serve the isolated people of Congo by God’s grace and with the love of Christ. Since those meetings we are working closer with the 3 MAF bases in each corner of the country, and we are also focusing more closely on specific ministry opportunities at each individual base. These are exciting times!
