Journey of Understanding: THe Road to Educational ExceLLENCE FOR STUDENTS IN TRANSITION
Friday, September 25, 2015 8:00am - 5:00pm Legal Services of Eastern Missouri (LSEM), Aetna Better Health of Missouri, the St. Louis County Continuum of Care (CoC), and Keeping Kids in District Schools (KKIDS) are the proud sponsors of Journey of Understanding: The Road to Educational Excellence for Students in Transition.
This event will be a special day-long training opportunity for social service providers and school district personnel who share the common passion of ensuring students experiencing homelessness can stay in school and succeed academically.
Did you know that more than 10,000 students enrolled in St. Louis area public schools experienced homelessness during the 2013-2014 school year? This year, the number of students affected by homelessness may even increase.
Join us on Friday, September 25th for this special full-day event *Registration Fee: $30* • A bus tour, where participants will visit school districts and social service agencies in the St. Louis area, all of whom serve homeless children and youth.
THE EVENT WILL INCLUDE: • Presentations and panel discussions to promote open dialogue about how students in transition are served in our community.
• Additional training, networking and discussion as participants travel between the tour stops. • Lunch and refreshments for all participants.
