Approval of Minutes-May 17, 2017 -- Approved as corrected Mid-Term Reports-Joy Moskovitz representing the Provost’s Office, described the mid-term grading or choosing drop down comments for feedback (attendance, absence, writing skills, as well as several other academic progress categories) as a way of improving retention. A. Pat Ippolito briefly provided background information related to retention B. Technology seemed to be the major obstacle, however this appeared to be have been resolved with a technology upgrade C. A number of special programs (GE, EEO, student athletes) already use this process D. The goal is to provide feedback to students during mid-term
E. A very small pilot during the Summer II session will be conducted (there will be five instructors to pilot pre-identified comments to complete through KeanWISE in My Advisees to make reports easily accessible by the faculty F. Withdrawal deadline has been extended by approximately two weeks G. Joy Moskovitz-addressed the mid-term progress issue. Provides more opportunity for faculty to provide feedback so that the student can make an informed decision about withdrawing from a course H. Students will be surveyed at the end of Summer II trial period I. Questions were entertained IV.
Withdrawal date/grade A. Moving from October 31 to November 15, in concert with the midterm progress report. Jennifer Spiegel responded to some questions related to coordination with Financial Aid B. Benefit: provides ample time to meet with students during registration period to provide guidance

Curriculum issues Occupational Therapy Clinical Doctorate-Entry Level Laurie Knis-Matthews and Maryanne Moran presented the program A. ACOTE accreditation for the doctoral program is different from the Masters in Occupational Therapy because there is a leadership emphasis B. Questions were addressed particularly regarding the Master’s level program and students will continue, as both are entry-level degrees Motion to approve: Moved: Fran Stavola-Daly, Second: Mary Jo Santos-Pietro Approved by vote Community Health-Nick Palmieri presented the program (Jessica Adams responded to questions) A. 120 credits that will qualify them for a Certified Health Education exam (CHES) B. Growing profession where there is a need for health education in the community and includes core concepts of the Masters in Public Health C.
