IPS Grade 3

Our highly qualified faculty recognizes the importance of embedding our curriculum. Rather than teaching individual subjects, teachers integrate disciplines in order to maximize understanding and better prepare our students for the ever changing global environment.

ENGLISH Language and communication are at the heart of all programs at IPS. Our aim is to educate students from diverse backgrounds who are equipped linguistically and culturally to communicate successfully in a pluralistic society. Language acquisition empowers students to express themselves intelligently and interestingly and gives them the skills to participate positively in a global society. All students will develop and maintain proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening in English.

ARABIC Arabic, as the host country language, and the dominant mother tongue at IPS, is given a strong emphasis . Children from nonEnglish speaking backgrounds other than Arabic, will also have the opportunity to develop further proficiency in the language.

ISLAMIC STUDIES AND CULTURE Students gain a better appreciation of Islam and focus on increasing knowledge and awareness of the importance of establishing healthy relationship with Muslims and Non-Muslims.

SOCIAL STUDIES Curious learners inquire about themselves and the people around them. In grade 3, learners will explore their communities, focusing on Al Khobar and the Eastern Province.

MATH Math is a global language that aids our learners in their understanding of the world around them. At IPS, we focus on math literacy . Rather than having learners memorize algorithms or facts, we see math as another tool to help us understand our world. Students focus on real world tasks that allow for conceptual understanding. Our mathematical process includes problem solving, reasoning and proving, selecting tools and comprehension strategies, connecting and reflecting and representing and communicating. Grade 3 learners will explore problems involving multiplication and division, properties of 2D and 3D geometrical shapes, patterning, and concrete graphs.

SCIENCE Curious learners inquire about the world around them and investigate how it works. Students reflect on their findings and explore the effects on themselves and the world. Grade 3 learners will explore Growth and Changes in Plants, Forces that Cause Movement, Strong and Stable Structures, and Earth and Space Systems.

VISUAL ARTS Art is a global language that aids us in our understanding of the world around us. Our learners incorporate art into all of their studies.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION Our physical education program focuses on the well-being of each student. We encourage all learners to participate in developing healthy active attitudes and lifestyles.
