Graduate Apprentice - Intramural Point University is a private liberal arts institution that educates students within a Christian worldview so they are equipped to take their faith into the marketplace and all of life while achieving their professional goals. POSITION DESCRIPTION This is a part-time position with approximately 20 weekly hours. The duration of the position is for four to 5 months., 4.5-month, live-in position which is intended to provide a new professional overview of Intramurals/Student Life. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Students and will contribute to an environment which is conducive to students’ academic, emotional, physical, cultural, social and spiritual health. DUTIES • Supervises a group of student workers/referee’s. • Focus on providing athletic, social, and recreational activities that facilitate personal growth and strengthen the bond between student and school. • Assist with communicating vision and providing over-all support for the Intramural sports entity of Student Life. • Organize and implement intramural sports and events. Assist with coordinating the field and facilities for sports to take place. • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training student workers; planning, assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving issues. • Will contribute to the Professional On-Call rotation which covers evening, weekend and holiday availability for residential students. • Models behavior which is reflective of a vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a desire to uphold the university’s standards of conduct in one’s personal life, both on and off campus. • Attends regular meetings with supervisors and other professional staff to discuss policies, procedures, program updates. REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree and a desire to explore careers within Student Life or other areas of campus ministry. • 1-2 years’ experience working with athletes, or other applicable Student Life experience. • Proficient in Microsoft Office. • Ability to balance administrative and relational tasks. • Self-directed with the ability to work independently and on teams. • Experience supervising others and leading teams preferred. • Experienced with football teams and other collegiate athletes, minorities and first-generation college students highly preferred.
