As per the G. O. (P) 107/07/G. Edn. dated 13-6-2007, it has been interalia ordered to grant recognition to Unaided Schools in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kasaragode, Kannur, Wayanad districts subject to certain conditions specified therein in order to overcome the educational backwardness of the Muslim community in the above Districts. This benefit was also extended to the Palakkad District vide G. O. (P) 23/08/G. Edn. dated 25-1-2008. As per the Government Order referred 1st, the Director of Public Instruction has been directed to identify the localities following the procedures laid down the KER in Kasaragode, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram and Palakkad Districts where the extreme Gaz. It has also been directed to identify the localities and complete the procedural formalities regarding the recognition of Unaided School as laid down in Rule 2 and 2A of Chapter V KER. Based on the direction to the Deputy Directors of Education of the above said Districts, the respective Deputy Directors of Education submitted the details of areas where the Un-aided Schools are to be recognized. Detailed scrutiny were conducted on the list, as the extreme social and educational backwardness was taken as the parameter. The following areas are notified where the Unaided Schools are to be recognized. Objections and representations against the list, if any, can be filed against the list published within one month from the date of publication of the list. Such objection shall be filed before the Assistant Educational Officers or the District Educational Officer as the case may be every objection filed shall be accompanied by chalan Rs. 10 remitted to the Treasury. Objection filed without the necessary chalan receipt shall be summarily rejected.
