Global Terrorism Report

On Tuesday February 16th the Asian Studies, Political Science and History departments held an event in the Miron Center Little Theater about Global Terrorism. The panel discussion was about what is terrorism, past historical events and eras that shaped todays terrorism, becoming more aware about what is actually terrorism and what is not terrorism. The speakers who spoke at this event are: Dr. Brid Nicholson who discussed “History of the Middle East”, Dr. Christopher Belitto who discussed “Referring to the Crusades”, Dr. Lawrence Chang who discussed “Terrorism Defined” and Dr. Nazih Richani who discussed “The Genesis and Growth of ISIS”. All the speakers of this panel spoke phenomenally and informatively that gave the audience a different perspective of how they viewed terrorism. During the Q &A, there were a few questions asked and one or all panel speakers gave their response to answer the question as best they could. Overall, about 40- 50 people came to listen in on the event. It seemed many people came to the event because it was an interesting topic. The audience seemed to be engaged throughout the event and seemed to interested in what the panel speakers had to offer in their speech.
