To be the woman that a man would crave and adore and really, truly want to BE with in the biggest way possible. I’m now comfortable admitting that for the longest time I was a total screw up with men. Not because I was fat (although for a long time, I was.) Fear is the opposite of attraction. Fact: ALL of the things that kill attraction and love are based in FEAR. • Neediness? Fear of not getting enough love. • Clinginess? Fear of being abandoned. • Jealousy? Fear of not being chosen, of not being ‘good enough’. • Worrying that he won’t commit? Fear that you’re losing him, or that you could lose him in the future. • Getting pissed because he’s checking out other women? This isn’t just hocus-pocus self-help mumbo-jumbo, either: it’s the basic tenet of cognitive therapy, one of the most widely practiced and most intensely researched forms of psychotherapy in the world. And as therapy goes, it’s truly powerful stuff: study after study has confirmed that it’s at least as helpful as antidepressants and other medications in boosting mood and increasing general happiness.) Cognitive therapist Dr David Burns M.D. (author of the absolutely amazing Feeling Good) states that “your thoughts often have much more to do with how you feel than what is actually happening in your life.”

Here’s something I use in my life when I’m feeling stressed out and my instinct is to cave in to feelings of stress, overwhelm, grief, and anxiety: I ask myself, ‘Am I okay in this moment right now?’ If my feet are on the ground, my heart is beating in my chest, there is air going in and out of my lungs, and I have the mental capacity to understand and answer the question … … then the answer is yes, I am okay in this moment right now, and everything else is an illusion. (Note that I didn’t invent this concept; I actually got it from a friend of mine, who’s a professional psychotherapist. However, I do find it tremendously useful in my everyday life, as will you.) Simply checking in with your actual state – the fact that you are here, breathing, alive, and actually just fine – goes a long way towards halting the spinning thoughts and negative thought-bog we can all get sucked into from time to time. Always Remember This: Painful emotions aren’t caused by what’s happening to you. They are caused by the pain-producing THOUGHTS that are flooding your head (often without you consciously noticing them.) The truth is that underneath all the fear, insecurity, worries and self-doubt, you are magnificent, you are invincible, and you are surrounded by more love than you could ever imagine, right now. Asking yourself this simple question – ‘Am I okay, right now?’ - is your first step towards removing the mental filters that are keeping you blind to the love you want, and your biggest key to opening up your awareness to your own irresistibility, beauty, power and HAPPINESS starting this second.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Many women also unconsciously make men responsible for their happiness. For instance, most women become irritated, resentful, harsh and bitter when they feel like the man they’re dating or in love with doesn’t show his love in the exact way they want him to. This can take a variety of forms depending on the stage of the relationship. In the early attraction stages, it might look like checking out other women in front of you, or being late to pick you up, or not responding to text messages quickly enough for your liking … the list goes on and on. In the later stages of commitment and exclusivity, it might look like not showing his affection as much as you’d like, or not making as much time for you in his life as you’d hoped, or being messy and sloppy around the house, or … you get the idea. This only becomes harmful and toxic to YOUR happiness, YOUR life and YOUR ability to live a big life unencumbered by mental bs and toxic thought patterns when you go beyond noticing what’s happening, to making him responsible for your thoughts (and thus, feelings) in response. “My life would be so much better if he would only tell me he loves me more often!” “My life would be perfect if I could just get him to want me.” “I’m convinced he doesn’t love me. It’s ruining my life.” Again, this is merely an incorrect mental construct designed to distract you from the amazing realization that you are in complete control of your own happiness at all times – starting RIGHT NOW.

Early on in my professional life, I was lucky enough to work for a guy who believed wholeheartedly in the transformative power of gratitude – and it changed my life for the better almost immediately. Under his directive, our small office would have a daily meeting to catch up on our projects and work, and he insisted that we begin every meeting with telling everyone else around the table 3 things we were personally grateful for. These things could be big or small, and they were different for everyone. “I’m grateful for food on the table, a roof over our heads, and money in the bank.” “I’m grateful for vanilla cupcakes, my red Converse sneakers, and rock and roll.” “I’m grateful for the amazing date I went on last night, my dog, and my health.” And so on. Now here’s the funny thing: simply noticing and listing three short things every day that we were grateful for had MASSIVE and almost instantaneous knock-on effects for all of us – in ALL areas of our lives. As I got into the habit of daily gratitude, I felt a rush of energy and a surge of aliveness right to my very heart. Doors began to open, new opportunities began to show up, and I began to experience happiness and success like never before. Every night before you go to sleep, I want you to list 3 things you’re grateful for in your life. Note that these things don’t have to be huge, life-changing gifts – you can keep it as simple as you like. (For instance, when one friend of mine is really struggling in her life, she looks for the most basic things to be grateful for: the sun shining, air moving in and out of her lungs, food on the table, etc.) You will be amazed at how, once you start taking the time to NOTICE what you already have to be grateful for in your life, more and more of what you want and love starts flowing into your awareness. Consciously listing things every day you have to be grateful for in your life instantly starts rewiring your brain and ‘relaxing’ the nerves responsible for feelings of stress and overwhelm. Instant Irresistibility Assignment: Tonight when you go to bed, I want you to start your daily gratitude practice. Here’s how you’ll do it: Get into a comfortable position, lying on your back or side. Close your eyes. And think of three things, big or small, that you’re truly grateful for in your life.

Step Two: CHOOSE To Love Yourself. Fiercely. Right Now. Loving yourself - unapologetically, loyally, fiercely – is the key to unlocking your potential, your beauty, your attraction, and the dreams you’ve carried inside you since you were a tiny little girl. I know we’ve all heard it before, but it really is true: Loving yourself RIGHT NOW is one of the sexiest things you can ever do. Men are magnetized by happy women like iron filings to a magnet. And loving yourself makes you RADIATE happiness. Think of the last time you were in love: the surging euphoria, the happiness permeating every cell, the irresistible smile tugging at the corners of your mouth, the feeling of lightness and peace and bliss warming your muscles and body and blood from within. You were just a big ball of happy, weren’t you? And you probably noticed that other people were picking up on your vibration and higher frequency, too – you probably got more smiles, more ‘hellos’, more invitations, more opportunities, just MORE. You Decide, Right Now, To Become Fiercely Self-Compassionate. Understand that self-compassion is your greatest tool for loving yourself fiercely and becoming the best, most insanely lovable and magnetically attractive version of yourself. Awhile back, I started to pay attention to the types of thoughts I was having. Up until this point, I hadn’t really gotten that invested in identifying the meaning behind the negative feelings I was having – I would experience anxiety about my work, or upset about my appearance, or sadness about my lovelife, but I wouldn’t actually pay attention to the words in my head that were driving those feelings. And when I started paying attention? I was shocked. Aghast. ‘Holy crap,’ I thought. ‘Did I really just say that to myself??’ The words, that I’d never bothered to identify before but that were there in my head all along, were so bad I almost don’t want to write them down here. They were words like, ‘You’ll never be good enough at what you do.’ ‘If you really try, you’ll probably fail. You’ll be embarrassed and ashamed and it’s

probably better if you just half-ass this, so when it goes wrong, you’ll know that at least you weren’t really trying.’ ‘Nobody cares about what you have to say.’ ‘People think you’re boring when you talk about yourself.’ ‘You’re looking older every day.’ And so on, and so on. I’ve always been my own harshest critic, but up until this point in my life, I’d always kind of thought that was a GOOD thing. You know, a point of pride. ‘I’m a perfectionist,’ I’d think proudly, ‘because I really care about doing things WELL.’ But when I took the time to really look at how I was operating inside my own head, the truth struck me like a punch in the gut (in a good way): I was paralyzing myself with doubt and self-criticism. I realized that I could never be my BEST self, live a life on purpose and inspire others to do the same, if I was constantly tearing myself down. Beating yourself up for tiny failures and even HUGE failures, expecting nothing but the best, and believing that ‘good enough sucks’ is a false path. It leaves you feeling afraid, picked-on, fearful, and as if you’re never good enough. It holds you back from taking risks and expanding as a person and learning new things and exploring your glorious potential – the one that lies JUST outside of your comfort zone.

You must choose to have compassion for yourself. Recently, I read a book called ‘You Are A Badass’, by life coach Jen Sincero (one I highly recommend, by the way.) One of the tips she gave that really resonated with me on a deep level was that, instead of saying things to yourself like ‘You’re screwing it all up! You’re worthless! You can’t do this right! You’re going to fail! You’re a horrible human being!’ and so on … Just think of yourself as a little bunny, working through your issues. This made me smile – and it really works. There is no black and white. You don’t have to ‘measure up’. You are lovely and okay and a perfectly imperfect, flawed, and beautiful human being, just like the rest of us. You’re not a monster. There is nothing wrong with you. You’re just a little bunny, working through your issues. You must decide – right here and right now – that from this moment forward you will treat yourself like you are the most magnificent woman that you know. Treat yourself like your own best friend. Celebrate your magnificence. Don’t let anybody mess with your head, your dreams, or your heart – least of all yourself. Your life is here, and it’s happening RIGHT NOW. Beating up on yourself is the thief of your joy, your beauty, your aliveness, your potential, and your inherent irresistibility. Compassion for yourself looks like forgiving yourself for everything – yes, everything – while still craving to learn and do better next time, It looks like being present in your life, being fully engaged with going after your

Step Three: Choose To Live In THIS Moment. Right Now. Psst – the secret to real happiness and real love is sourced in THIS moment. The one that’s happening right now. Every time you worry, you’re living in the future. Every time you regret, you’re living in the past. But what if you could bring your awareness to THIS moment and just … be? Being present gets you out of your head and into your LIFE – connecting you to the universal source of abundance, which raises your energetic frequency and vibration, which attracts things, experiences, and people of like frequency to you. Think of it this way: every time you’re ‘in your head’, you’re not really able to connect with whoever and whatever is in front of you right now. You’re missing out. You’re distracting yourself. You’re living in your head, instead of in the world. And on a pragmatic level, you’re coming across as distracted, tense, fidgety, stressed – not exactly ‘attractive’! So the question is, how do you bring yourself back to the present? Well, we all have an amazing teacher who can bring us back to the now any time we choose. This teacher is always with us – in fact, there’s no escaping it!

Your Own Body Is Your Greatest Guide To The Present Moment Have you ever noticed that when your body has needs, they can’t be denied? When you’re hungry, your body doesn’t wait until it’s convenient to let you know. When you’re tired, your eyes are eventually going to shut whether you want them to or not. And when you’re thirsty, water becomes the only thing on your mind until you can pour enough of it down your throat to quench your thirst – whether or not it’s a ‘good time’ for a drink or not. Your body doesn’t worry about how its actions and needs will affect others, or the future, or how its actions in the past affect you now. Your body exists NOW. Which makes it an excellent teacher whenever you need a gentle reminder to return to the present moment – because your body is always with you : ) Here’s how you do it: Bring yourself out of your head (which loves to dive into the future or the past via worries or regrets) and into your body by focusing on how your body feels. Personally, every time I’m starting to feel a bit frenzied and caught up in the whirl inside my head (‘kids! Job! Money! Laundry! Dinner! Exercise! Am I looking older today?? My hair needs redoing … baby shower this weekend, gotta get a present … oh no, parking ticket! Gotta make lunch! Kids! Job! Money!’ etc) …
