1. The People’s Republic of Bangladesh (“the borrower’’) has received financing from ADB, AFD and GEF towards the cost of “Greater Dhaka Sustainable Urban Transport Project (BRT, Gazipur-Airport).’’ Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB. 2. Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) (“the Employer”) invites sealed Bids form eligible bidders for the “Construction of Pavement, Drain, Pedestrian Facilities and Local Markets on Both Sides of BRT Corridor’’(“the Works”) which includes, but is not limited to the following :    

Road pavement; Drainage facilities; Pedestrian facilities; and Local markets Time for completion of the works from the commencement date will be 18 months.

3. International Competitive Bidding (ICB) will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single-Stage: Two Envelope Bidding Procedure. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible countries as described in the bidding documents (Section 5). 4.

Only eligible Bidders with the following key qualifications should participate in the bidding:  



Have a minimum average annual construction turnover of USD 15 million calculated as total certified payments received for contracts in progress or completed, within the last five years; Participation in at least one contract that has been successfully or substantially completed within the last five years and that is similar to the proposed works (construction of road/highway pavement), where the value of the Bidder’s participation exceeds USD 10 million. For any contract executed within the last five years, a minimum construction experience in the following key activities:



a) Construction of 4,000 m³ cement concrete pavement (rigid pavement) in a single contract; b) Construction of 100,000 m² 40 mm thick dense bituminous pavement including aggregate sub-base, aggregate base course in a single contract.; c) Construction of rectangular RCC/brick masonry drain of at least 2 km in a single contract. Must meet all eligibility and qualification criteria in the bidding document.
