At its heart Messy Church aims to create the opportunity for parents, carers and children to do something fun together, to enjoy expressing their creativity with some age appropriate crafts and then to sit down together to eat a meal. We incorporate a short time of worship - sing a couple of songs and have a short talk, all within a safe and caring environment. We aim it at Pre-school and First school children but there are some activities suitable for Middle school children as well. We would love to see you, even if you have children just visiting. There is no charge and you don’t need to tell us in advance, although it does help with catering if you can. Annual Events As well as the regular clubs and groups, there are a couple of annual events available for the whole community. However, these only happen because people volunteer to make them happen. In summer we have our traditional Village Day and in winter the New Year's Eve Party. Each of these events has a small team who are prepared to give up some of their time over the year to plan, raise funds and organise so that residents can come together to enjoy these events. Volunteers are always needed either to help organise, to help on the day of the event, or do both. As the saying goes 'Many hands make light work' If you'd like to help in any way at all then please contact the organisers for more details. The New Years Eve Party is for all ages and takes place in the Village Hall. The evening currently includes a pooled supper and a bar, games, a quiz, music and dancing and a separate TV room for children. New Years Eve Party Chair: Jan Chisholm  788151 Village Day - July Village Day takes place on a Saturday in early July at Longhorsley First School.
