Educators may choose from the following field trip topics: Spring Fun on The Farm Spring is an exciting time on the farm. With the longer, warmer days farmers are busy planting crops and farm animals are having babies. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the special farm activities associated with the spring season. Example activities may include: Making the goats a special “salad”, bottle feeding a baby calf , feeding the pigs, gathering eggs, learning about wheat by exploring wheat berries, planting a make and take wheat plant, milling wheat into flour to make buns and learning about what products are made from crops that grow in our area.

Customized learning tours:

Adventures in the Pumpkin Patch Visitors will learn about the pumpkin growing process and will have the opportunity to harvest pumpkins from the farm’s pumpkin patch. Visitors will learn about nature’s special helpers who protect the farmer, the animals and the food we consume.

Do you have a curriculum topic that could be brought to life by visiting our farm? A unit on bugs, composting, or farm animals comes to life with a custom planned tour. Call to arrange a planning meeting so that we may develop a trip to suit your programming needs.

Example activities may include: Learning about the pumpkin growing process through interactive storytelling, going on a walking tour to find “farm helpers”, harvesting pumpkins, a make and take craft activity and hands-on exploration of the inside and the outside of a pumpkin.
