the spring of 2004 from amongst the resultant seedlings. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This application claims the bene?t of priority under 35 U.S.C. 119(f) of the application for a grant of European Community Plant Breeders Rights which was ?led for the instant plant variety on Jan. 25, 2008, Application Number

‘TULLYRASPB’ was selected by the inventor for its com

bination of compact habit, burgundy colored foliage and deep pink ?owers. The variety of Hebe which the inventor consid ers most closely resembles ‘TULLYRASP’ is one of the pos

sible parent varieties, ‘Mrs. Winder’. In comparison with 10

2008/0177. The present invention relates to a new and distinct cultivar of Hebe that is grown for use as a ?owering plant for use in

Asexual reproduction of the new cultivar was ?rst accom

plished by the inventor at the inventor’s nursery in 2004. The method of asexual propagation used was softwood cuttings. The inventor has determined that ‘TULLYRASP’ stable and reproduces true to type in successive generations of asexual

containers and in the garden and landscape. The new cultivar is known botanically as HEBExhybrida and will be referred to hereinafter by the cultivar name ‘TULLYRASPB’.

‘TULLYRASPB’ is the product of a breeding program started by the inventor in 1998. The breeding program is ongoing, and is conducted at the inventor’s nursery in Bally

propagation. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

boughal, County Dublin, Republic of Ireland. The primary focus of the breeding program is to produce new cultivars of Hebe which are extremely compact and which possess color ful foliage and abundant ?owers. These characteristics in combination are considered by the inventor to be of most interest to the relevant market. The breeding of ‘TULLYRASPB’ proceeded as follows:

‘Mrs. Winder’, ‘TULLYRASPB’ is more compact, has

deeper burgundy foliage and deeper pink ?owers.

The following traits have been repeatedly observed and represent the characteristics of the new HEBE cultivar ‘TUL 25

First, the inventor assembled several potential parent variet ies, including the commercially available cultivars ‘Autumn

LYRASPB’. These traits in combination distinguish this cul tivar from all other commercial varieties known to the inven tor. ‘TULLYRASPB’ has not been tested under all possible conditions and phenotypic differences may be ob served with

variations in environmental, climatic and cultural conditions, however, without any variance in genotype.
