High Speed Rail: Finally on Track? San Jose State University ● 6PM,Thursday, Nov 29 College of Engineering, Room 189 $10 Admission / Students free with valid ID Will high speed rail become a reality? Should it? TransForm believes that high speed rail has the potential to reinforce cities as the hubs of our economy, relieve congested roads, plus help California meet clean air and greenhouse gas reduction goals. Yet it also has an enormous price tag, is being slapped by lawsuits and has generated opposition in cities and farms alike.

Join Dan Richard, Chair of the California High Speed Rail Authority, Elizabeth Alexis from HSR watchdog group Californians Advocating Responsible Rail Design (CARRD); and Marian Lee from Caltrain for a lively, honest, and candid discussion that promises to dig into some of the most confounding issues facing the project. The forum will include a panel discussion and an audience Q&A session. Sponsored by TransForm and the California Association of Environmental Professionals, this event will be on Thursday, November 29 at San Jose State University. The event includes light snacks and networking starting at 6:00 p.m. Registration is $10 (free for students w/university ID).
