HOW TO DOWNLOAD SPANISH GOVERNMENT MAPS FROM OUR SITE An updated and cleaned up version of the Spanish Topographic maps are available from our site. These maps are updated every time we find paths and tracks that are not on the existing maps. Also, unnecessary data (for walkers) has been removed from original maps. If you follow instructions below, maps on your computer will be updated every time a change is made to them. If you just want to download maps and not have further updates, just move maps from “my drive” to another folder in your computer. 1. Open a google DRIVE account This is free and gives you 20GB of on-line storage. To open an account, go to Google and follow simple instructions. 2. E-mail us at
[email protected] with “link to maps” as subject. 3.Later (give us 24hrs) open your google DRIVE and check “Shared with me” folder. 4. Highlight maps you want (file with extension “png” only). NOTE: The file "index of maps" will show you what area each map covers. The folder "Alicante - Costa Blanca..." are the maps you will probably want. 5. Drag these highlighted files to “My drive”. This will copy all highlighted files to your computer into folder “my drive” If you intend to have other stuff in your Google drive you should put the maps in a separate folder under “my drive”. To do this, open “my drive” Click on “create” choose “folder” and give it a name (maps?). Then in step 5 above, drag files into this folder. NOTE: You can of course drag the entire folder to “my drive”. The other files (.map and .ozfx4) are Oziexplorer files, the software I use to do my mapping. See link on website for Oziexplorer website) ABOUT MAPS Blue lines are paths. Dotted blue lines are rough hard to follow paths. Black lines are tracks and roads. Dotted black lines are unsurfaced tracks or roads.(presently being updated). The "index of maps" document shows what area each map covers. Safe walking Jean & Bob Hall
