How to Register for the SAT and ACT SAT Registration 1. To register for the SAT, go to www.collegeboard.org If you’ve already created a CollegeBoard account, go ahead and log in. If you haven’t created an account, click the “Sign up” link.

2. Once you’ve clicked “Sign up” answer the questions to create you student account.

3. Once you’ve created your student account, you’ll be redirected to your new homepage. To register for the SAT, click on “Register for the SAT” at the bottom of the page.

4. You’ll be asked to review your personal information (Step 1) and create a student profile (Step 2). If you don’t have time to answer the student profile questions (Step 2), you can skip them and answer them later. Creating your student profile isn’t required to register for the SAT but you should answer the questions at some point. CollegeBoard uses the answers to your student profile questions to email you about colleges you might be interested in and scholarships. When you get to Step 3 you’ll pick the type of test you’re taking, the date of the test, and the testing center you want to take the test at. The Counseling Department advises all students to take the essay portion of the SAT and/or ACT.

5. After you’ve completed Step 3 of the SAT registration, you’ll be asked to upload a photo of yourself. This photo will be displayed on your SAT admission ticket that you’ll need to take with you on the date of the test.

6. Step 5 of the SAT registration is when you’ll pay for the test. If you’re paying with a credit card, you’ll input the credit card information. If you’re paying with a fee waiver, you’ll fill out the fee waiver section. If you’re paying with a fee waiver, type in your 12 digit SAT fee waiver identification number that can be found on your fee waiver form, check off that you have student verification of eligibility, type in your counselor’s name, and check off the fee waiver criteria that says you are “enrolled in or eligible for the Free and Reduced Lunch program.”

7. Once you’ve completed the payment step, your SAT admission ticket will come up. The admission ticket shows the type of test you’re taking, the date of the test, your testing center, what time you need to be at your testing center, and the materials you need to bring. You’ll need to print your admission ticket and bring it with you to your test along with a photo ID.

8. You’ll need to sign back in to your CollegeBoard account and click on “My SAT” if you want to reprint your admission ticket, view your SAT scores, or send your scores.

ACT Registration 1. The process of registering for the ACT is the same as registering for the SAT. Instead of going to CollegeBoard, you’ll go to www.actstudent.org. You’ll either sign in to your ACT student account, or create an account if you don’t have one.
