Human Foosball Tournament Official Game Rules 1. The original matches are determined by random drawing. All registration forms and fees are due by May 26. The first 32 teams to register are in the tournament. 2. Each team is made up of 5 players: a goalie, 2 forwards and 2 mid-fielder/guards. Teams may also have 1 substitute player (in case of injury) who can be the ball chaser for the team, but not required. 3. Each game will be played for 10 minutes. The team with the highest score at the end of time moves on to the next round. In case of a tie, a “Golden Goal” is played for 2 minutes and the first team to score wins. If no score is made by the end of the “Golden Goal” time, the winner will be randomly drawn for the next round. 4. Players’ hands must not leave the poles. Referees will give warnings for this violation. 5. No players can touch the ball at any time. Referees will determine this infraction and the opposing team will receive a free kick from mid field for this violation. 6. If the ball leaves the court or is deemed out of play by the referee, play will be restarted at center court, as when play begins or following a goal. 7. Players should not touch or purposely kick other players. Referees may determine blatant violations of this rule and award the opposing team a free kick from mid field. 8. Players are encouraged to wear a “team” shirt of their choosing. Team shirts/outfits must be appropriate and family friendly, with no offensive words or pictures. Team names must also be appropriate for announcement to all audiences. 9. Good sportsmanship and appropriate behavior is required. If game officials deem any conduct to be inappropriate or unsportsmanlike, the team may be disqualified. This includes foul language, name-calling, threatening activities, or excessive alcohol consumption. 10. Play begins promptly at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 30, 2015. Players should be ready to play and be courtside at least 10 minutes prior to designated game times. Late teams will be disqualified and forfeit all registration fees. Team Captains will be notified of First Round game times by May 27. 11. Teams must check in with the officials at the registration table and be pre-registered. 12. Winners of each bracket will move on to the next round until the final game. The Tournament Champion will receive a trophy and $100 prize money. The second place team will receive a trophy.
