NFIR enclosetacopy of Times of India news clipping - May 20'h 2017 (Mumbai Edition). From this media report, it is noticed that eight employeeslost their lives on duty in eight months. Due to non-availability of "standard operating procedures", the Railway staff working on suburbansection (Mumbai) are put to greaterrisk. The fatalities number in recent months has been causing demoralization among staff. NFIR, therefore, requeststhe Railway Board to kindly review the situation and arrange to issue suitable policy guidelines with regard to safety of on duty staff more particularly on suburbansectionto minimize the number of casualities.
