Respondingto revised instructionsissuedby the Railway Board on "Indigenous system of medicine Homeopathic/Ayurvedic Dispensaries" under letter dated 2310712014,NFIR had highlightedfollowing issueswhich have adverseimpact:. o .

Railway Board has reduced and limited the total number of Ayurvedic and Homeopathic Dispensariesto eight (08) and two (02) respectivelyin each zone andProductionUnit. Further the Railway Board have curtailedthe existing working hours of dispensariesfrom 8 hoursto 4 hours with five daysworking which is not acceptableto NFIR. Also the powers delegatedto the GeneralManagersof Zonesand ProductionUnits to approve upward revision of working hours of the Homeopathic/AyurvedicDispensarieshave been taken away by the Railway Board underthe revisedpolicy instructions,issuevide letter dated 2310712014. The rates of honorarium for consultants, dispensers, attendants/helpersand the monthly subsidy for 8 hours & 4 hours duration respectivelypresentlyprescribedhave no rationale with the rise in cost of living as well medicines. Federation feels that the revised instructions, would result denial of treatment through Indigenoussystemof medicinein the Railways.
A period of more than four months has passed,modified instructionshave not been issuedby the Railway Board so far as a result the Railway employees(their families) and RELHS beneficiaries havebeenmadeto suffer unnecessarily. NFIR, therefore,requeststhe Railway Board (MS) to kindly interveneand seethat modified instructionsas suggestedlby tlie Federationare issuedwithout further loss of time. A copy of the instructjonsissuedmay be endorsedto the Federation.
