1. PREREQUISITES: Before starting the HRView installation, following tasks needs to be fulfilled: I.

Controllers should be configured on the LAN as explained in section 1.1

II.

IIS must be installed on the system. The procedure for IIS installation is explained in section 1.2.

III.

Note down the serial nos. pasted on VertX or Edge Devices.

1.1.

Controller LAN Configuration:

All the controllers are by default set on factory configurations with a default IP. For first time installation of the controllers, each controller needs to be configured on the LAN. To configure the IP address, Port and Host IP address configuration of the controller, follow the steps mentioned below: 1. Disconnect the computer from the network and directly connect the controller to the computer with an Ethernet cable. 2. Open the Local Area Connection properties of the computer. Note down the existing LAN configuration settings. Then change the computer IP address to 169.254.242.120 and subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 3. Now access a web browser (IE/Fire fox) and type controller default IP 169.254.242.121 into address field and press Enter key. 4. The web browser will prompt for login information. Enter the username as admin and leave the password field empty. 5. VertX basic setup configuration page opens. Enter the LAN settings of the controller as per the company‟s LAN settings (Fig. 1.1).         

Set connection selection to Network. Choose Basic Network Setup as Static. In IP Address, enter the IP to be assigned to the controller, provided by client. Enter the Subnet Mask, Default Gateway as per the LAN configuration settings of the company. Primary DNS Server and Secondary DNS server are optional fields required if the controllers are to be accessed though internet. In CS/Host addressing set the IP address of the server where HRView application manager is installed. Set “Here I Am Interval (sec)” to 20. Set the password. (Please remember this password, it is required when you open this configuration page in future) Now click on Submit button.

Card In-Card Out option is meant for access doors where readers are placed both at the entry and exit side of the same access door. For this scenario, check the Card-In Card-out checkbox else leave it unchecked. Select reader1 checkbox to define its parameters. Select Pin reader checkbox if the reader is a pin reader. Enter the name of the reader. Select Reader protocol as Clock & Data if the reader is a Clock & Data reader else keep it Wiegand only. Select Reader Type from the following options: o In: For the reader is to be used only as Access reader and installed at entry of access door. o Out: For the reader is to be used only as Access reader and installed at exit of access door. o Login: For the reader is to be used as Attendance plus Access reader or Attendance reader only. o Logout: For the reader is to be used as Attendance plus Access reader or Attendance reader only and installed at exit of access door. o Login/out: For the same reader to be used as Login and Logout both. There are two options: o Alternative Login-Logout: First swipe of the day is recorded as Login, second swipe logout then third again Login and in this manner the card swipes are recorded. o Except First all Logout: Here only the first card swipe of the day is taken as Login while all the other card swipes are taken as logout. Choose the Access control type as per the installed location of the reader eg. if the reader is placed on a door then choose Access Control type as Door.

If the readers are to be used only for access purpose (not for attendance) then only define the reader name and save the default settings. Version 1.0

Version 1.0

Page 38

Installation Guide HRView (IDC_PMD_M_03) Note: Time should be given in 24 hours format for example to set Check-Out Time to 6 pm, set appropriate field to18:00, otherwise it will be considered as 6:00 AM.  Attendance Rule Name: Specify the name of the Attendance Rule to be created. Maximum 10 characters are allowed.  Day Start Time: By default the new day starts at 12:00 AM (00:00), for the shift. Specify the time from which the day should start for the shift. For example: if a user sets the day start time as 6:00 hrs, it means that before 6:00 AM the day will be considered as the previous day or the Date of Duty for the employee changes after 6:00AM instead of 12 night. This parameter is useful for the companies having multiple shifts (morning, noon night etc.) or the employees work till early morning.Eg. If the Day Start Time is set to 6:00 AM for the shifts assigned to an employee for the month of June and an employee logs-out at 2:00 AM of 2nd June, then this logout will be counted in the shift of 1st June  Check-In Time: Specify the time at which the shift starts.  Check-Out Time: Specify the time at which the shift ends. It is not necessary to define checkout time in the same calendar day but has to be defined after check-in time and within 24 hr period from the day start time of the shift. Eg. if 6:00AM is set as day start time and 9:00AM is defined as the check-in time, then the check out time for the shift can be defined between 9:00 hrs and 05:59 hrs.  Min. Half Day Hours: Specify the minimum number of hours for the shift to be considered as half day eg. If an employee has to work minimum 4 hours to be considered as half day then choose it as 4. If the field is left unchanged (00:00) then this parameter will not be considered in the attendance calculations.  Min. Full Day Hours: Specify the minimum number of hours for the shift to be considered as full day. If the field is left unchanged (00:00) then this parameter will not be considered in the attendance calculations.  Late Coming Half Day Hours: Specify the number of hours from the check-in time after which half day will be considered for the shift. If the field is left unchanged (00:00) then this parameter will not be considered in the attendance calculations. Eg. if Late Coming Half Day Hours is set as 1:00 hr and check-in time is 9:00AM, if an employee comes at 10AM or after 10AM then the day status will be shown as Half day for the employee in the attendance reports.  Early Going Half Day Hours: Specify the number of hours before the check-out time before which half day will be considered for the shift. If the field is left unchanged (00:00) then this parameter will not be considered in the attendance calculations. Eg. if Early Going Half Day Hours is set as 1:00 hr and check-out time is 18:00 hrs, if an employee leaves at 17:00PM then the day status will be shown as Half day for the employee in the attendance reports.  Over Time Period: Specify the time between which the Over Time Period will be considered for the shift. The overtime period can be specified either before or after the shift, but after the day start time and within 24 hrs period from day start time. If the field is left unchanged (00:00) then apart from the time between shift check-in and shift check-out time, the rest is considered as over time period for the employee. Eg. If the day start time, check-in time and check-out time is set to 6:00 hrs, 9:00 hrs and 18:00 hrs respectively, then the overtime period can be defined between 6:00 hrs and 9:00 hrs or 18:00 hrs and 5:59 hrs.  Min. Over Time Period: Specify the minimum working hours for the employee during the overtime period defined, below which the overtime for the employee will not be considered. For example: if 1hr is set as minimum over time working hour, it means that any employee working less than 1hr during the overtime period defined then it will not be considered as overtime for the employee.

VII How to Change the port address of controller 1. Access a web browser (IE/Fire fox) and enter IP address of the controller into Address field 2. The web browser will prompt for login information. From the Login screen enter admin as username and password as already set. By default Vertx/Edge controller use 4070 as Connection port and 4050 as Listen port. This is also the default configuration for the demonstration server. In case, if it is required to change the port uses the following instruction. 1. Click on Advanced Setup on the top of the basic setup page

2. Set Domain Name to HIDVertx.com

3. Set the TCP/IP Connection port and TCP/IP Listen port

4. Now click on Submit button. Then click on save button on summary page. If the changes saved successfully a Vertx Reconnect page will appear.
