In late 2013, Springfield Local Schools began using the online Instant Alert program to provide families and community members with important information such as notifications of weather closings/delays, important announcements relevant to programs specific schools and emergency notifications. At the time the program was announced, letters were sent to all families that explained the Instant Alert program. The program is still in use today and as we approach the winter season, the district would like to invite new families to establish accounts and existing users to visit their accounts to ensure that we are able to notify you should the need arise – here it what to do:      



Have on hand your students’ ID number. If you do not have the numbers for your students, they can easily be obtained by contacting the main office of their school Verify with the school that the district has the correct contact phone number in our database Enter https://contactme.schoolmessenger.com into your web browser For New families, click on the Sign Up Now link near the bottom of the page and follow the instruction to establish a password for future access and offer your current email account information Check your email account – there will be an Account Activation email from [email protected] which contains a link to a confirmation page Once you have activated your account, select the Click here to begin button, select the option I do not have an Activation Code and want to activate by phone, select Next and add your student’s ID number. You will then receive further instructions. If you have more than one student, you can all them all to the same account Once you have established the account, navigate to the Contacts Tab and click the Edit link. There you can choose how you wish to be notified when the district chooses to send an Instant Alert message – phone call, email or text message. It is important that you click Save to activate any changes that you make!
