INTERIOR AND EXHIBITION DESIGN WORKSHOP Siddhartha Arts Foundation Education Initiative (SAFEI) cordially invites you to our free workshop to learn more about interior and exhibition design.
Learn the ergonomics of exhibition design, curation of an exhibition, and how to manage an exhibition space. In further details, the workshop will focus on exploring different types of exhibitions, selection and organization of content, discussion of logistics, examination of the physical and digital tools needed for exhibition layout, exhibit placement, display techniques, the production and fabrication process of an exhibition, handover of an exhibition ‘cheat code’ (list of tips and tricks of fabrication and installation of art and signage), diagnosis of curation, understanding spatial psychology, and discussion on spatial principles and human physiology/psychology and perspectives in a closed space. Furthermore, the workshop will undertake an informal approach to actively engage and encourage participants to contribute and discuss their ideas and thoughts throughout the sessions, while the timings have been kept fairly short to allow participants to digest each day’s session. As always, the workshop is free of cost, and refreshments will be provided. The discussion is part of a larger effort by the Siddhartha Arts Foundation (SAF) to improve art curation, art coverage, and artists' careers in Nepal. About the Facilitators: Yashodha Pathirana Yashodha Pathirana is an Interior and Set Designer based in Colombo specializing in: creative direction, conceptual spatial design, set and event design, mixed media rendering, and new media. She is currently designing a school in the foothills of the Himalayas. Pawan Shrestha Pawan Shrestha, architect, is the Founder Chairman of Architectures Sans Frontieres Nepal, Vice Chairman of Architecture Sans Frontieres International, and Director of Green Tree, Nepal. His experience in the field of International Cooperation started in 2003 when he began collaborating with Engineers Without Borders Nepal as General Secretary and Project leads in various projects. Since then, he has been involved in a range of different projects: healthy homes construction, improvement of cook stoves, improving kitchen management, housing, education, and health facilities in various parts of Nepal. He was in the winner team of Mondialogo Award, Germany in 2003, and also a finalist of Development Market Place organized by World Bank Headquarter, USA 2007. He has been involved as an architect in interior and exterior design works of various hotels, resorts, schools, colleges, and offices since 2003.
