Risky Business: Millennials, Social Media & Risk Management in Outdoor Education January 9 @ 4pm Ackerman 210
PRESENTED BY: Jerry Isaak, MSc Outdoor Education EOU Outdoor Program Coordinator, Adjunct Instructor of Physical Education & Sport
The growth of online communities and social identity, combined with new technology, appears to require a shift in the way outdoor educators approach the topics of risk management and decision making. This workshop will attempt to clearly define the influence of social media and technology on risk taking/decision-making and will seek solutions to the challenge of a possible digital divide between digital natives (students) and immigrants (instructors). Refreshments provided.
