Storage Area Network (SAN) is a very important topic nowadays. As SAN has become integral part of each organization, this STTP will provide a platform to understand SAN and its working . The size and scale of the storage infrastructure of most organizations is increasing at a very rapid rate. Organizations are digitizing and persistently storing more types of data, and are also keeping data for a longer duration, mainly for Compliance, Business Intelligence and Mining purposes.
Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology was established in 1994 in the heart of Navi Mumbai, Vashi, as a part of Agnel Technical Education Complex. The aim of the Institute is to provide quality technical education in addition to inculcating moral values to its students. There is a limit to the amount of storage that can be managed by a single administrator. This limit is due to the number of complex tasks that a system administrator has to perform such as change analysis, provisioning, performance bottleneck analysis, capacity planning, disaster recovery planning and security analysis. Hence the number of system administrators required increases as a function of growth in storage.
