Ivory Ocean Beanie Crochet Pattern

Special Stitches

V Stitch (V-st) Crochet 1 double crochet in the next st, chain 1 (centre chain), and crochet another double crochet in the same st.

Camel Double Crochet (camel dc) Yarn over, insert your hook into the next stitch, but not through the front OR back loop, but instead an extra loop that is behind the hdc stitch. Yarn over, and pull back through that stitch (3 loops on hook). Yarn over, pull through 2 loops. Yarn over, pull through last 2 loops. Rnd 1-Ch3 using “Blue Water”, 5 V-sts in 3rd ch from hook. Join with sl st in first dc of the first V-st. (5 sts) Rnd 2- Sl st in 'centre ch' from V-st made in previous rnd. Ch3, 1 dc in same 'centre ch' (Counts as a V-st), 1 V-st in same 'centre ch'. *2 V-sts in next 4 'centre chs' from V-sts made in previous rnd. Join with sl st in 2nd ch of 'ch3'. (10 sts) Rnd 3- Sl st in 'centre ch' from V-st made in previous rnd. Bow: Ch53 [61] using “Ivory White” yarn. Row 1- 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in next 51 [59] sts. (52 [60] sts) Ch1, sl st in 1st st of 'Row 1'. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Finishings:

Adult Size: Rnd 6- Sl st in 'centre ch' from V-st made in previous rnd. Ch3, 1 dc in same 'centre ch' (Counts as a V-st). 1 V-st in next 3 'centre ch'. 2 V-sts in next 'centre ch'. *1 V-st in next 4 'centre ch'. 2 V-sts in

Fold the “Bow” in thirds. Taking a piece of yarn thread it through the “Hole” on the beanie for the bow. Wrap the strand of yarn around the bow and tie it as tightly as you can. Wrap the leftover yarn around the centre of the bow, then sew in the loose ends.
