PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lake Geneva Schools Announces Jt. #1 District Spelling Bee Champs Lake Geneva - January 23, 2017 – Lake Geneva Schools is pleased to announce the top finishers from the Lake Geneva Jt. #1 district spelling bee finals held January 19 at the Lake Geneva Middle School (LGMS). Eighteen 5th-8th grade students from LGMS, Eastview Elementary and Star Center Elementary School competed in the finals. Sixth grader Crete Slattery took 1st place, and seventh grader Kyle deGelder placed 2nd. Fifth grader Gianna Horne from Eastview Elementary placed 3rd. Slattery and deGelder will move on to the regional spelling bee this spring (location and date TBA). Congratulations to all participants. ###
