Weekly Incident Summary June 26-July 2, 2017 HALTON HILLS, ON – Monday, June 26, 2017 05:05 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Guelph St. On arrival staff were informed of an activation caused by a steam leak. System reset and no other issues found. 13:41 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on River St in Acton. On scene fire staff met with building personnel who advised of an alarm activation in the electrical room. Fire staff checked the electrical room using the thermal imaging camera (TIC) and detectors with no fire or smoke found and no readings. Activation possibly caused by passing electrical storm. 23:25 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an odour investigation on Park Ave in Acton. On scene fire staff entered the home and using detectors found zero readings. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 08:53 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a natural gas line break on Ann St. On scene fire staff met with the contractor who while digging fence poles with an auger had struck a gas line 1-1.5 inches. Fire staff established a safe area and residents sheltered in place. Union Gas arrived on scene and capped the line. No further concerns. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 00:31 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a police assist on Mountainview Rd S. Using thermal imaging cameras, fire staff assisted Halton Regional Police search for a missing person. 14:50 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a smell of natural gas on Hamilton Cres. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who advised that a gas burner on the stove had been left on unlit. Fire staff entered the home and using detectors found zero readings. No further concerns. 15:24 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Sargent Road. On scene alarm bells could be heard. Fire staff entered the building and checked all detectors and pull stations with no problems found. Contractor on site may have triggered a heat detector or mag lock by accidentally striking it, or dust caused by drywall repairs in the ceiling.

17:00 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on Samuel Cres. On scene fire staff met with the homeowners who did not have a valid burn permit. The fire was extinguished and the burn permit process was explained for future burns. 20:37 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Tenth Line. On scene fire staff met with the homeowners who advised that cooking had set off the alarms. No further concerns. Thursday, June 29, 2017 13:13 Hours - Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible fire on 32 Sideroad. Upon arrival fire staff noticed a fire burning in a 45 gallon drum. The fire was on the front lawn area of the adjacent property to the complainant. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who did not have a valid burn permit. The fire was extinguished and the burn permit process was explained for future burns. 17:06 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision in the area of Steeles & Trafalgar Road. Halton Regional Police were on scene upon arrival. Fire staff disabled the vehicles and applied absorbant to some leaking fluids. Fire staff also provided patient care until Halton Regional Paramedics arrived. Friday, June 30, 2017 02:16 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an ambulance assist in the area of Main St S & Church St E in Acton. Halton Regional Police and Halton Regional Paramedics were on scene upon arrival. Fire staff was not required. 18:20 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision in the area of Steeles Ave & Ninth Line. Peel Regional Paramedics were on scene upon arrival and advised fire was not required. Saturday, July 1, 2017 12:11 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Hall Road. On scene fire staff found the alarm panel showing P-1 sprinkler system. Crews checked the area and found a small hole in the sprinkler pipe. The water was shut off to the sprinkler system and building personnel was to have the system repaired. 20:57 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of fireworks being ignited in an unsafe manner on Princess Anne Dr. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who explained that they had lit some fireworks earlier but is now done. Fire staff received permission to enter the property to ensure the fireworks were set off in a safe manner. Sunday, July 2, 2017 00:41 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on Killaloe Cres. On scene fire staff found the remnants of a small fire in a contained pre-fab fire pit log that was still smoldering. Fire staff used a water container to put some water on the log. 03:05 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Miller Dr. Upon arrival an audible alarm was activated. Using the keys from the key box, fire staff entered the building and discovered the panel stated alarm activation on the second floor. A

thorough check of the second floor found no activated detector or any problems. The alarm panel was reset with.
