Tuesday 30th January 2018 Keeping Our Children Safe Dear Parents & Carers, OLSH is implementing new safety procedures for students who have permission from their parents/guardians to walk home at afternoon dismissal. Teachers will continue to escort students to current drop-off safety sites which include:  

Walkers – Crosses Mears Avenue and stops at lights on High Street Crossing - Crosses lights at Avoca and then crosses Short Street

To assist with the identification of students who have permission to continue home on their own, or who meet their parents at a pre-arranged spot, the school will be issuing students with coloured tags containing the school emblem. This tag will be attached to the outside of the student’s school bag. Unless a student has an older sibling or a pre-arranged older student to walk with them, this facility will only be available for students in Years 4-6. Even if your child only walks home on their own one day a week you will still be required to register for a tag. Otherwise, students will need to be collected from the hall or car pick-up zone. If your child is currently collected from the school but your circumstances change you will be required to register at the school’s office before they can commence. Please complete the table below for your child/ren to be registered and return to the school office. This procedure will commence in Week 4 which gives the office staff sufficient time to process applications. Thanking you in advance.
