“Knowledge Is Power” by Mr. Wu There is another very famous phrase, “Those who do not know their history are destined to repeat it.” I believe this phrase goes hand in hand with Francis Bacon’s “Knowledge is power” aphorism. If you are aware of the currents of the world and equipped with a curious mind, then you have armored yourself against people who are trying to control you. Knowledge is power because with knowledge you are able to see the world in more complex and sophisticated ways. Knowledge is power especially in our Internet age. Information is more readily available now than it has ever been. Unfortunately, that also means that disinformation is just as attainable. Therefore, to have knowledge means to also be able to determine between false information and true information. Oftentimes, the best places to find knowledge have nothing to do with school. The knowledge that you attain in school sometimes comes pre-packaged in the most uninteresting way possible. But if you realize that learning can take place anywhere, the world becomes your school. I remember in college, I barely listened to my literature professors because they saw the world one way while I saw it another. Instead, I would spend hours in the library looking up things like conspiracy theories and the Illuminati and the Freemasons because I found that stuff very interesting. But traditional education doesn’t touch that with a ten foot pole.
