WHAT CAN I STUDY AT KOREAN STUDIES B.A. PROGRAM? The B.A. degree program encourages students to think beyond conventional disciplinary lines and to have a basic and strong core of knowledge regarding to Korea as one geographic area of the world. Upon acquiring the fundamental knowledge about Korea and Korean culture that require good skills of Korean language, students are encouraged to design their own field of expertise and develop their particular interests. We have two core faculty members in Korean literature and history and twelve affiliated faculties in religion, anthropology, sociology, politics, gender studies, North Korean studies, and so on.

International Exchange M (merit-based) Application Period: automatically selected without additional application Eligibility: 1) U ndergraduate students who have foreign nationals earned 15 credit hour without failure in the previous semester, and whose GPA is over 3.00 (out of 4.30). 2) A mong the students who pass the qualification above, those who have higher GPA have priority to be selected. 3) If the students take Korean language courses, they can be selected even though they take 12 credit hours. 4) The University limit the scholarship to those who have the TOPIK level 4 or above.
International Exchange N (need-based) Eligibility: 1) Students must earn 10 credit hours in the previous semester and their GPA must be over 2.00 (out of 4.30). 2) Students must have difficulty in paying the tuition fee.
JAYANG Young-soo Noh Fellowship for Korean Studies major students Eligibility: 1) Jayang YS Noh scholarship is only for Korean Studies major students. 2) In the beginning of each semester from fall 2016, Department Chair can recommend one student for this fellowship. 3) Amount: 600,000 won for one semester

A. Scholarships at Ewha Ewha Global Partnership Program (EGPP) Application Period: students must apply for the scholarship in their University application. Eligibility: 1) Students must be from a developing country in Asia and Africa. 2) Students should demonstrate their high potential to become a female leader. Full tuition fee (including admission fee), on-campus housing fee, plus stipend.
International Exchange Scholarship (IES) Application Period: students must apply for the scholarship in their University application. Eligibility: 1) Students are deemed capable of contributing to international exchange in education. 2) Students should keep their GPA above the minimum requirement to maintain their scholarship. The benefit varies from full-tuition-fee exemption for four years to half-tuition-fee exemption for one year.
Korean Language Classes for Korean Studies major students sponsored by Advancement of College Education (ACE) project
Every semester, the Korean Studies program organizes Korean language classes only for our major students. The Korean language class of the program is non-credit and voluntary program. Depending on the demands of its students, the program organizes one or two classes in beginners’ and intermediate levels. The class schedule will be decided by participants and teachers. Students can decide whether they want to use the program or not.
