Item Types: Items have been named based on PARCC guidance.  Machine scored items include traditional multiple choice and two-part, evidence-based multiple choice.  Short Answers are teacher-scored items that require 2-3 sentence written responses to passage-related prompts.  Brief Constructed Responses are teacher-scored items that require 1-2 paragraph written responses to passage-related prompts.  Prose Constructed Responses are teacher-scored, multi-paragraph responses to a prompt related to one or more passages (primarily used with linked passages). Prompts align to writing standards and were previously called writing prompts.
