Our French Oak Collection comprises a selection of solid and engineered hardwood floors—all hand-finished by skilled artisans in France. A variety of classic patterns including the coveted Parquet de Versailles and Chevron patterns are present in this collection, as well as a wide range of plank woods, random widths, colors and textures. The distinctive character of each Francois & Co. plank is achieved by using a variety of “Know How " and techniques to achieve particular lusters, textures, and patinas. Some woods are fumed throughout the grain for a distinctive and sophisticated depth of color and tone. All French Oak from Francois & Co. receives natural or pigmented oils that are impregnated and deeply rooted into the grain. While acrylic and polyurethane surface coatings detract from the natural beauty of hardwood and degrade with age and use; the rich surfaces of our French oak are only enhanced with age and use—the more it is walked on, the more beautiful they get.

La Manche Natural Material Statement: As with all natural materials, Francois & Co. wood surfaces can be expected to have natural color tone variations due to varying acidity levels within the wood, different harvest times, different harvest locations and tolerances within the color finish application process. The degree of natural wood color variation, often referred to as color “range”, can vary from production batch to production batch and product to product. As you consider your surface material selection, please note that color range is a natural characteristic of authentic wood surfaces and is to be expected. Lighting, photography and electronic device displays play a significant factor in the marketing appearance of wood products. Actual physical samples in the environment in which the wood will be installed should be reviewed prior to purchasing.

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) are chemicals that can transform in structure into a gas or vapor and enter the surrounding air or atmosphere. VOC free materials are manufactured without the use of VOC chemicals or compounds. Using VOC free building materials helps create an environment that contributes to the overall goal of environmental conservation.
The Engineered Collection is made up of a selection of premium, engineered hardwood floors, available in a variety of patterns, textures and colors. These floors are constructed of mulitple layers including a thick, oak-top layer, suitable for use with radiant and underfloor heating and cooling systems. Finally, all of our Engineered floors are treated with our specially developed oil for easy maintenance and to preserve the authentic finish.
