We got a lot of new impressions during the project meeting. We met people from other countries and learned about the work which they did during the project. Also, we had the opportunity to find out what we will do next. While we were preparing for the meeting, we got interested in traditions, culture, dishes, nature and people’s characters of different countries. Besides, we learnet about participants‘ work, hobbies, pets etc. Furthermore, we could represent our country, its traditions, language and nature. We showed famous places of our district. The most important thing is that during this project we had a chance to communicate with each other and learn the English language. European project helped us to meet a lot of new people, visit other countries and see them at close range.

Perfect chance to meet in Gran Canaria and enjoy the beautiful places and lovely weather

This meeting took place smoothly and efficiently, because there were the most intelligent and the most creative teachers - the project organizers. Turkey is a friendly country and its people are very sincere.

TURKEY

Kernavė is one of the most important and the most interesting monuments in central and Eastern Europe from the araelogical point of view. Kernavė is the cradle of Lithuania. It is an ancient capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, situated on the banks of the river Neris. Picturesgue hills of Kernavė are considered to be a visit card of the Lithuanian tourism.

Unfortunately, Turkey could not be represented in this group by learners.

ITALY

FRANCE

LITHUANIA

Through our first ice – breaking activities we realized how easy it is to be friends even if we have different cultures and different languages.

What else but see smiles on faces, happy people who didn’t know each other a few days ago. Those people were perfect strangers when they met but they will part as fiends looking forward to communicating through English in the future.

Many things unite people but language unites them best. Language is that flower which needs daily care. You have known us we have known you. It is very important. We are different but we are similar.

HIKING TOGETHER IN ŽEMAITIJA (Samogitia) NATIONAL PARK Our group visited Žemaitija Nacional park on 2nd of July. During the hiking partisipants saw Samogitia National Park. We were hiking along Seires path. We saw natural Lithuanian nature. Beeing together, communicating with each other and improving our English language we perfectly spent our time.

Festival‘s INTERVIEW A.Hello, my name is Adelė. Are you Margarita Mola Gonzalez, from Spain? M. Yes, I am. A.I would like to chat with you. We are participating in the project “Language Unites Euorope“. Yesterday we went to the Kernavė festival of experimental archaeology. The festival has been held 12 times so far. What was interesting to you about Kernavė? M.Kernavė is interesting for its nature. It’s a nice place with some mountains were castles in the past. It’s interesting because we could see how Lithuanian people lived in the past. A.Did you climb the hill-forts? M.No, I didn’t go, because it was too hot and I only saw them. A.What was your greatest impression? M.I had a lot of impressions but the greatest one was how carefully they are there. For a moment, I thought, that I was in the past. They were dressed with traditional clothes and they were working with traditional instruments, everything was decorated like in the past. A.Did you buy souvenirs? M.Yes, of course, I bought a typical cake called šakotis for my family and the linen dress for my nephew. A.Are there such festivals in your country? M.In my country the festivals are very different, we don’t have an archeological festival, we have Canarias day and that day we dress with typical clothes and we dance typical dance called Isa. A.Thank you for the interview

EDUCATION Our newspaper During two workshops, working together, the participants designed the first newspaper of our project. The learners were divided in four groups: - Geraldine (Spain), Vida, Ilma, Laima (Lithuania) and Stephano (Italia) worked with Sophie (France), Verona (Romania) and Margit (Austria); -Margarita(Spain), Vida, Edita, Adele, Alma (Lithuania) and Raluca (Romania) worked with Zeki (Turkey) Rita (Lithuania) and Carolina (Spain); -Mapi (Spain), Rodica (Romania), Daiva, Mantas, Zita, Genovaite (Lithuania) worked with Rossella (Italy) and Christian (France). The multicultural teams established, in the first workshop on 3rd of July the title as well as the main sections of the newspaper. In the second workshop on 5th of July, the learners continued to prepare the project’s newspaper according to their tasks. Then presented their work and made the design of the common newspaper. After the meeting the partners will add information and photos in the final version of the newspaper. The newspaper was a good opportunity for the participants to communicate in English and improve their language skills. The partners decided to make the other editions of the newspaper in the next meetings.

Learners from abroad are at the centre for disabled in Plunge

Spanish, Italian, Romanian, Turkish, French, Austrian came to Lithuania for a Grundtvig Project and they visited Plunge Adult Education Centre and they joined the activities of weaving, applied textile and pottery workshops.

An interview about icebreaking activities Rita.WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ICEBREAKING ACTIVITIES? Christian. When we meet other people from different countries our negative feelings such as shyness, embarassment etc., are an obstacle to make friends but these games helped us to take out „the child“ that is inside us. Rita.DID YOU ENJOY THE ICEBREAKING ACTIVITIES? Christian. We enjoyed these activities very much as children do. Rita.WHICH ACTIVITY DID YOU LIKE BEST? Christian. All activities were useful. The first activity “ballon introduction” was involving. The second one “drawing our faces” was funny. The third one “ball game” was the best because we could remember and repeat names and countries.

International Intercultural FRIENDSHIP!

WORKSHOP IN THE CENTRE FOR DISABLED Two days ago, student’s Project went to a Lithuanian folk art workshop in a Center for Disabled in Plunge. All the students said that it was a great experience which they felt the love that teachers and disabled students put in all their works. The purpose of this center is to integrate them in the society. This center has three areas, pottery, weaving and applied textile and it’s decorated with a lot of pictures, flowers and carpets. The Colour is the first thing you could see there. Teachers are very involved in their work, it’s like a second home for them. They listen to music while they work, they laugh and they learn how to work in groups. Student’s project had the opportunity to work one hour there and live a real experience. A few of them went to the pottery, some of them to the weaving and the rest to the applied textile. They could learn how to make a carpet, a clay bowl and a flower made from cotton. The only thing they could finish was the flower as other activities need much time to finish.

BOWLING GAME In the nice environment of Porto Hotel in the evening of 3rd of July, the partners spent the specials moments by playing together a bowling match. The best player and the winner was Christian from France.

… The most really interesting thing of this experience was the comments of some students: - Geraldine commented it wasn’t so easy to make the carpet because it’s a work where you need to be very strong. - To Laima it was a nice experience because she usually does applied textile and she has never done a flower from cotton.. - Mapi was impressed for the love that these people put in all their works.
