National Scholarship Program with Barbizon USA. th

Susan Michel, Scholarship Representative, will be at RBHS on October 24 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Main Street. This is an opportunity for a student to win a college scholarship for any 4 year accredited university of the student’s choice in the United States. The scholarship is open to all students. Barbizon has been around for over 75 years and has given over 1 million dollars in scholarship money. Barbizon also offers scholarships in the liberal and performing arts.

Apply today for the Corps of Cadets! Seniors should apply for admission as early as possible. The UNG application for admission opened this past summer. We admit applicants on a rolling basis. We evaluate a student's application for admission as soon as it becomes complete, and render a decision within a couple of weeks. It is to a student's advantage to apply as early as possible. A complete application consists of:  On-line application for admission into the University of North Georgia  Official high school transcript through junior year  Official SAT or ACT test scores (must be sent directly from testing organization)  Proof of being lawfully present in the U.S.

TEACHING FELLOWS The SC Teaching Fellows Application window is September 1st through December 1st! The South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is entering its nineteenth year of offering the state’s brightest and best students up to $24,000 over four years to become South Carolina educators. Administered by CERRA-South Carolina, the Program provides fellowships for up to 200 students each year (actual number determined by funding from the General Assembly). These students participate in enrichment programs at a Teaching Fellows Institution, participate in professional development and leadership opportunities, partner with communities and businesses, and receive up to a $6,000 fellowship annually for four years as long as they are in the process of completing a degree leading to teacher certification and meet the criteria to continue in the program. A Fellow must agree to teach in a South Carolina public school one year for each year he/she receives loan monies. Any student who is a legal resident of South Carolina and a current high school senior, or junior graduating early, who will be attending college as a freshman in the fall of 2018 may apply. Fellowships are based on academic achievement, references, community and school involvement, an interview and a writing assessment. Students must attend one of the eleven Teaching Fellows Institutions. Currently, these include Anderson University, Charleston Southern University, Coastal Carolina University, College of Charleston, Columbia College, Francis Marion University, Lander University, USC Aiken, USC Columbia, USC Upstate, and Winthrop University. All students who are interested in teaching in South Carolina and who meet the qualifications for participation may submit an application, and share this information with your faculty and greater school community. The online application will open September 1, 2017. The deadline for submission will be December 1, 2017, with notification to Fellowship recipients in early spring 2018. For students who are awarded Teaching Fellows, they must also have a surety sign the promissory note to receive funds. For applicants who are eighteen (18) years of age, the surety must be over twenty-one (21) years of age. For applicants under eighteen (18) years of age, the surety must be a parent or guardian. Students without a surety cannot be awarded Teaching Fellows. The application is available on the CERRA Web site at teachingfellowsc.com. School counselors will be asked to submit an official transcript which includes GPA, class rank, and any relevant SAT or ACT scores for each applicant from your school. Teaching Fellows applicants will be responsible for collecting three references on the official 2017 reference form. All transcripts and references must be must be received by 5:00 on Friday, December 8, 2017. Please take a minute to review the reference form and pdf version of the application available online. Please understand that students must complete the application online. In order for applications to be considered complete, the student must answer all mandatory questions on the online application, and a high school transcript and three (3) references on official forms must be obtained and sent to CERRA. All supporting documents must be received by 5:00 on Friday, December 8, 2017. Incomplete applications will NOT be scored. The Lyceum Scholars Program at Clemson University is a $10,000 scholarship for incoming freshmen to study the moral, political, and economic foundations of a free society. Lyceum Scholars read the Great Books of Western Civilization and discuss timeless questions such as:  What  What  What
