Dear Teaching Staff Applications are sought from teaching staff interested in applying for one of the four Learning Studies Leaders positions for 2016. All teaching staff are eligible to apply, including permanent and non‐permanent teachers. The successful applicants will be supported by an additional allocation of time to their load to undertake the role (amount TBA). The appointment to this role will be made at current level. Following feedback from 2015, Learning Studies Leaders will have an allocated Learning Studies Group. Learning Studies Leaders Summary of key responsibilities Provide support as required within colour team to enable the implementation and management of the Learning Studies program Support Learning Studies teachers in understanding, and fulfilling their role as Learning Studies teachers as described in the ‘Role of the ASMS Learning Studies Teacher’ Under the leadership of the Learning Studies Coordinator, contribute to the development, implementation, assessment and review of the SACE PLP. In collaboration with other staff, provide support for students who need learning/pathway support and advice including non‐achievement and non‐engagement follow up. Provide referrals to SST team and/or the Leadership team as required Working Relationships Reports directly to the Learning Studies Coordinator Supports a team of Learning Studies teachers Works collaboratively with the Student Support team and a member of the Leadership team Summary of role Learning Studies teachers are provided with the support and required resources to ensure the successful implementation of the Learning Studies curriculum A high level of communication is achieved between Learning Studies teams, Student support team, Leadership team, and parents Students who need individual support are identified and assisted in collaboration with the Learning Studies teacher Learning Studies teachers are supported in meeting their requirements as a Learning Studies teacher Please forward a one line expression of interest including the name of a referee to me by COB Monday 26 October if you wish to be considered for this role in 2016.
