Formative Assessments: Students must be able to demonstrate understanding of the mathematics concepts in each lesson . However, if a student would like to retake a quiz he/she may do so. The retake grade is the grade that counts. A grade reflects the understanding of concepts on the most recent assessment. Therefore, if a student does worse, the test grade will decrease.
Summative Assessment Retakes: Students must be able to demonstrate understanding of the mathematics concepts in each unit. However, if a student would like to retake a test he/she must meet the following requirements to be eligible: They are: Students must have a 60% or higher as a homework grade. Students must come in on their own time for a scheduled reteaching session. Reteaching work must be completed for 100% completion. Student must demonstrate active relearning. Students cannot make up the entire test. The original test will be broken into at least two parts. Students will decide which part they would like to retake to attempt to raise the old score. This opportunity will be provided for all of our tests, with the exceptions of the semester exams. The retake grade is the grade that counts. A grade reflects the understanding of concepts on the most recent assessment. Therefore, if a student does worse, the test grade will decrease.
