Number bonds

Use your fingers to help with number bonds to 10 and number bonds to 100 Look at both your hands, put some fingers down and see how many are left up. This is a number bond to 10. 0 + 10 = 10 1 + 9 = 10 2 + 8 = 10 3 + 7 = 10 4 + 6 = 10 5 + 5 = 10

To add/subtract10 to a number, add/subtract 1 ten onto the digit in the tens column... TU 24 + 10 = 34 24 34 - 10 = 24 34

Times tables x1 (one lot of a number) When you x1 the answer is the same as the other number, EG. 1 x 7 = 7 (1 lot of 7 sweets would give you 7 sweets) x2 (is the same as doubling) All the numbers in the 2 times table are even so end with 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 X10 All multiples of 10 end with a 0 Look at the fingers... 3 fingers = 3x10 (30)
