As a North Suburban All-Conference and Daily Herald All-Area basketball player, Jack Lipp poured his heart into his sports. As a point guard, he demonstrated personal traits of leadership and intelligence in the court presence that he displayed. Jack was always ready to play on game day, and even made ESPN’s Top Ten Plays. The sport of golf allowed Jack to demonstrate other personal traits. It took a lot of humility and passion for Jack to play JV golf his junior year. His perseverance paid off. When Jack was a senior, his scores were sometimes the best on the Varsity team, and, more often than not, his scores were used in the team total for match play. Jack brought a ton of fun, swagger and charisma to the teams he played on and he lived the mantra "go big or go home.” We lost Jack much too soon, and in his honor, the Lipps, their family and friends would like to award the “Play with Heart” Scholarship. Criteria: o Must be a senior and have participated in the Boys’ Basketball or Golf program for a minimum of two years at any level in high school. o Must agree to attend one game during the Libertyville Boys’ Basketball Christmas Tournament and sit with fellow “Play with Heart” memorial scholarship winners. o One LHS faculty or staff reference required. o Short essay, pick two to answer (maximum word count 300 each): 1.
