Life In Full Exposure - What Is Your Story?
L.I.F.E.LINES
Writing Your L.I.F.E.line…
What Is Your Story? A Guide for Writing Your Personal Testimony “15But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” - 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV) At MPACT Greenville (the Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church Greenville), we value sharing the story of how Jesus can change a person’s life. Just like your fingerprints, your personal “God Story” is unique...and provides the best evidence of who you are in Christ! Whether you have just accepted Christ as your Savior, or you accepted Christ at an earlier stage in your life, your story is important…to you, to your friends and family, and, most importantly, to God! Your story can also serve as a witness to non-believers…helping open their eyes, ears, and hearts to the grace and mercy God provides thru Salvation in Christ! At MPACT Greenville, we offer our L.I.F.E.lines (Life In Full Exposure) Program to help our students craft their story so that they are able to comfortably and confidently share it with others. The following questions provide a very helpful outline for writing your personal L.I.F.E.line. Our prayer is that this will be a spiritual experience as you reflect and write about how your relationship with God began and what God has been doing in your life since you accepted Christ.
1. Share, briefly, about your life before you accepted Christ as your personal Savior. What were your attitudes, needs, concerns, family situation?
What happened to make you aware of your need for Jesus?
2. Share how you came to the point of praying to receive Christ as your personal Savior. Why did you decide to pray to receive Christ as your personal Savior?
Was there a key passage of scripture that helped you come to this decision?
Were there significant people (friends, family, pastor, etc.) that played a role in helping you make this decision?
Describe when you prayed to receive Christ as your personal Savior (time of year, place, age, etc.).
Have you been followed the example of Christ and been baptized by immersion since receiving Christ?
3. Share about your life after accepting Christ as your personal Savior. How have your life, actions, and attitudes changed since you accepted Christ as your personal Savior?
What is God teaching you right now?
Is there a verse of scripture that is extremely meaningful to you or one that serves as your daily guide for your life?
