Lisa Gibson Schmidt Memorial Scholarship

The family of Lisa Gibson Schmidt has established a scholarship in her name to be presented to a deserving graduate of Wapahani High School. Lisa was a most successful and vibrant student during her days at Wapahani. She demonstrated a dynamic and contagious vitality to all she met and was truly an extraordinary young woman.

A $300 award is to be made to a senior girl who most represents those qualities and ideals that Lisa demonstrated. A committee established by the family will review the applications and determine the successful candidate. Applicants will be evaluated with the following criteria:

o Must have a GPA of at least 2.75. o An active member of extra-curricular activities. o Demonstration of high ethical and moral character. o Demonstration of a willingness to volunteer and assist others o Demonstration of motivation to excel in all attempted o Demonstration of financial need. The award will be made each May /June at the Wapahani High School graduation. The gift will be sent to the bursar’s office of the university or other educational facility of higher learning where the recipient enrolls. The award is for the year immediately following high school graduation and is not renewable.
