Lt Col Charles V Pratt, Ph.D. AJPME Military Faculty Lieutenant Colonel Charles V Pratt enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1983 and after a 4-year active duty tour was honorably discharged in May of 1987 relocating to Fresno California in 1990. He joined the 144th Fighter Wing, Fresno California Air National Guard in July 1993, was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1996 at the Academy of Military Science in Knoxville Tennessee, and graduated from Fresno Pacific University with his BA in Management and Organizational Development in 1998. While at the 144th Fighter Wing he served as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer, Wing Executive Officer, Logistics Squadron Operations Officer, and obtained his M.B.A from California State University Fresno in 2001. In 2004 he served a combat tour in Afghanistan as the Logistics Squadron Deputy Commander and subsequently in 2005 graduated Air Command and Staff College via non-resident program. Lt Col Pratt also served on State Active Duty from March 2005 to December 2011 as the Assistant Deputy Director, Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program as part of the California Governor’s Office of Homeland Security. In July of 2005 Lt Col Pratt was selected to a command tour as the 129th Maintenance Squadron Commander, 129th Rescue Wing in Moffett Federal Air Field, California. In 2007 he deployed to Kandahar Afghanistan where he served as the Deployed Maintenance Squadron Commander and graduated Air War College via distance learning. In 2009 he served a joint combat tour to Iraq as the Multi-National Security Transition Command Senior Logistics Advisor to the Iraqi Army in Bagdad. From August 2010 to August 2014 Lt Col Pratt served as the Commander 129th Security Forces Squadron, Deputy Commander 129th Maintenance Group, and a second tour as Commander 129th Maintenance Squadron on active duty status. In April of 2014 Lt Col Pratt was awarded a Ph.D in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems Management from Argosy University in San Francisco. He also instructed part-time at two different universities for 9 years as an adjunct instructor teaching statistics and business courses at the baccalaureate and graduate level. Lt Col Pratt joined the staff of Joint Forces Staff College in September of 2014 and subsequently graduated Joint and Combined Warfare School (JPME II) in November 2014. His personal decorations include: a Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation medal (3 awards), Air Force Achievement medal (2 awards) along with numerous other unit, campaign, and state awards. Lt Col Pratt resides in Norfolk VA, with his wife Kathryn, and a proud father of his daughter, Rachel.
