Manage or wipe mobile devices When you manage your company’s devices, you see a list of the devices being used and who they belong to from the Google Admin console. The list offers details about specific devices, their users, and device events. You can also perform management tasks, such as blocking a device from synchronizing work data, wiping a lost device, and more. Learn more about managing devices.

Enforce password strength for devices 1.
Sign in to admin.google.com with your G Suite username and password.

From the Admin console Home page, click Device Management.

From the menu on the left, click Password Settings.

Check the box for Require users to set a password.

Set the password to Standard or Strong. a.
Password strength: Choose how strong the password should be.
b.
Minimum number of characters: Choose how many characters (like “!” or “&”) must be in the password.
c.
Number of failed password attempts before device is wiped: Add the number of times someone can try to enter a password before all corporate data is deleted from the device.

Choose any other options in this section you’d like to enforce.
Click Save.

Whitelist applications You can whitelist and manage applications from Google Play or the Apple App Store®. Your users will see these apps on their device. If the device is lost or stolen, or if the person leaves your company, those apps are removed along with their G Suite account. Users who use iOS® devices need to install the Google Device Policy so you can manage those apps.

Depending on whether the user has an iOS or Android device, many G Suite apps are already whitelisted: ●

Inbox by Gmail

Google Hangouts
●
Google Drive

Google Calendar
To whitelist and manage apps, you have to set up advanced mobile management.

Whitelist an application 1.
Sign in to admin.google.com with your G Suite username and password.

From the dashboard, click Device Management.

From the menu on the left, click App Management.

To manage apps: ○
For iOS devices, click Manage applications for iOS devices. (Set up an Apple Push Certificate to access this option.)

To manage apps for Android devices, click Manage Applications for Android devices. i.
If you didn’t do this during setup, click to Set up Google Mobile Management as your EMM provider. You see the Android app management section.

Click Enable Android app management > Enable. You’ll see a confirmation message.
iii.
At the top left of the page, click Device Management.
iv.
From the menu on the left, click App Management.

Select Click here to manage.

At the bottom right, click Add application
7.
In the Search box, enter the name of the app and click Search.

Select the app from the search results.

If you’re adding apps for iOS devices, click Continue.

If you’re adding apps for Android devices, click Approve > Approve > Save. Then, in the Set app distribution box, click Continue. (Some apps may have additional notifications you have to approve or accept.)

Click Save. A confirmation message appears.

Block and delete devices You can block a device lost by a user who expects to retrieve it. The device will no longer sync G Suite data, but any information that was already synced will still be available. To remove all G Suite data from the device, you have to wipe it. By wiping the device or the G Suite account, you remove corporate data. Only apps installed with the Google Device Policy app will be wiped. Personal apps and data won’t be affected. Block a device 1.
Sign in to admin.google.com with your G Suite username and password.
2.
From the Admin console Home page, click Device Management.

Click the Mobile Devices box.

Find the device you want to block. To help you search, from the menu on the left, in Device Ownership, click Personal or Company owned.

Check the box next to the device, and click Block.
6.
(Optional) To completely delete the device, click Delete.
Note: You can also block a device for a user from the Users page of the Admin console, but you won’t see company owned devices there, only personal devices.

Wipe a device Before wiping a device, read Remove G Suite from a mobile device in the G Suite Admin Help Center. The options and prerequisites differ depending on the device and management type. 1.
Follow instructions to Block a device, above. At step 5, check the box and click Wipe Device or Wipe account. (For devices set up with separate personal and corporate data, you see the Wipe account option to only wipe G Suite data.)

Click Wipe.
