Common Questions: Can I take my OHV to the store? OHVs can only be used to travel to and from a location open to OHV use. This excludes the use of an OHV for shopping or traveling to a retail location. Limited purchase of fuel along a travel route may be allowed. Do I need a helmet in a Side by Side OHV? All OHV use inside the City of Mesquite requires the use of a helmet by all occupants regardless of the style. What if the road is marked at a higher speed than 20 MPH? OHVs are required to travel at a maximum of 20 MPH inside the city regardless of the posted speed limit. If the speed limit is less than 20 MPH the OHV must slow to that speed limit. How do I access the desert area? OHV use outside of the City of Mesquite is regulated by the BLM and other agencies. Please contact them with specific questions and recreation area requirements.
