“Seeing the Miracles Around Us” Thank heaven for technology! I don’t usually say that, and I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a quick learn when it comes to computer language, but it did allow me to see with my own eyes my new-born granddaughter, Georgia Faith Jorrissen just a couple of weeks ago. So thank you Skype technology for helping me witness what is truly a living, breathing miracle from God! And speaking of miracles, if there was ever a time for opening our eyes to God’s many miracles it is this approaching Easter season. We have the miracle of God’s magnificent creation, the miracle of the night sky which bedazzles us with its immensity and

beauty, the miracle of our bodies which is a vast universe within itself, the miracle of God’s Word which continues to inspire and strengthen us, …and the greatest miracle of all, our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who overcame death, and who lives with us and within the hearts of all believers! So in these final weeks of Lent, friends, let’s open our eyes once again to the miracles that surround us and celebrate together the wondrous miracle of Christ’s risen-ness, the foundation of our faith and hope for the future!

FROM THE LAY LEADER Congratulations to the Moscow UMC 'acting troupe' for their presentation of 'Mystery at the Spa' this past weekend. It was great fun, great food, and, I'm sure, a lot of hard work. Hope you were able to see it. A couple of days before the play, the second Lenten Ecumenical Service was held at Moscow UMC. The service was wellattended, and good fellowship and food followed. I encourage you to attend one of the remaining services in the area and support our local Christian churches. This strange but pleasant winter well be winding down soon, and though it was hardly severe I'll be glad to see it leave. I can hardly wait for the air to warm and the ground to turn green

again. It reminds me how important variety is to us. It's the reason we take vacations from work, read new books, meet new people, and travel. I think God enjoys variety too, and that's why he created the different types of people, plants, animals, and places that we see. Besides the enjoyment variety affords us, its' contrast can also help us to appreciate our blessings more. Would Spring be so lovely without summer? Doesn't travel show us that "There's no place like home"?. Would life be so precious without death? Variety can become a great teacher to us, if we're open to it. Enjoy the variety of the March weather! God Bless....Dan Schilling

FUN IN MOSCOW, PA! _________________________________________Janet Brown
Planning for the Moscow Country Street Fair is in full swing and Moscow UMC is going to be involved! Lisa Duffy of Duffy & Snowden Funeral Homes is spearheading this historic event and working to bring back the nostalgia of what so many of us remember as the Moscow Country Fair, but with a new twist. On August 5th, 6th and 7th the streets of Moscow will be buzzing with crafters, music, games and wonderful family events. Lisa has asked Moscow UMC to be an anchored part. Our fellowship hall will be an event stopping point (event t.b.a), but we are hoping that our congregation can put their heads together to make for some fun fundraising
events during this important weekend. Gideons international has already been in contact with our office, and have plans to set up a stand on our site and distribute bibles to young children throughout the weekend. If you have some suggestions for games, crafts, etc. that can take place, in our bottom lot, please contact the church office. Let’s put our heads together and work with Lisa Duffy in helping to make this 1st Annual Moscow Country Street Fair a success for our church and our community! Janet Brown
Leaving a Meaningful Legacy...
Are you interested in leaving a lasting legacy? Have you ever considered apportioning part of your inheritance to Moscow United Methodist Church? When you choose Moscow UMC as a beneficiary, or ask that donations be made in your name to your church, you help nourish the living word of Christ by supporting the many programs, the upkeep and maintenance of your historic Moscow UMC as well as those missions that reach outside our walls. What better way to honor your love for spreading the word of Jesus Christ? Our volunteer committee leaders work diligently to be sure that the monies invested and spent on behalf of Moscow UMC are done so in the wisest manner possible. Please feel free to contact the church office or Pastor Jeff with any questions you may have.
